Actually I see a real reason for the cops to dislike this. Already in high crime areas in the states police can not enter an area with out the bad guys being phone or texted the presence of the cops. If I was a cop I would be concerned when entering a drug dealers house if he had photos of our numbers positions and entry stratagy. I don't know the legality of it but if you call or send pictures of a police action to criminals you are obstructing justice. In this case the news report looks a bit one sided. Taking the guy in for questioning and/or preventing him from sending the pictures to criminals so not so unreasonable given the circumstances.

I hadn't thought of that one. Unlike a digital camera or a film camera with a cell you can send the picture to another person instantly.

Not the outside screen, it would be facing squarly at the cop. Either way, if police have that much trouble shooting people holding cell phones we have a much bigger problem.

I haven't heard that they do have much trouble with them.

All's I'm saying is, in the dark, when cops are edgy, it seems inherently stupid to take something out of your pocket and, with one outstreched hand, raise it and point it at the cops. Aren't you asking for a potential accident? I certainly wouldn't be testing it, regardless of what the cops are 'supposed to know'. Playing with fire there, and I know, I've had guns drawn on me for a mistake, life and death are inches apart sometimes due to the tiniest miscalculations.
