couple places in Kensington have nice stuff. Urban Barn, for example. With a $5000 budget you can look at Ethan Allen and Pottery Barn, depending on how much of that budget is for your TV

A couple of you guys must have gone to a different Sears than I did or it was a long time ago because I firmly believe Sears sucks eggs.

Sears delivered a washing machine to my house (5 days after purchase, $50). I needed an extra part (an adaptor). 3 hours on the phone, 2 weeks later and with 1 large pile of dirty clothes I finally got to wash my clothes. I was told by more than one person that they don't carry the model I had recently purchased from them. I was also told by the same people that the parts depot in north Calgary does not have a telephone so it is impossible to contact them.

It is my firm opinion that Sears sucks. I went through the same rigmarole for furnace filters.

I got my couch and chair during a sale event. Both have had plenty of use and are still in perfect condition. Also, pets are up on them all the time. Those cheap twigs must be pretty strong. If they ever snap I'll have to take a look at a hickory hill one.

I havent been here long but I have bought furniture from the Urban Barn, Ikea, Costco, and Dufresne.

Dufresne is your classic furniture place. Costco doesnt have a great selection but what they do have is well made and well priced. Ikea as mentioned above, dont put it together with your significant other, else you better have a comfortable couch

Cheers

Ah, Pottery Barn. I never thought that going into such a store and looking at pricetags would make me that angry. I guess it's the value driven consumer in me.

My wife is like an IKEA-putting-together genius and happily putters away at it while I avoid the area. I can't stand putting that stuff together AND SHE LIKES IT. Weird!
