Its no problem, but those weren't my instructions.
It should be your favorite song by the listed artist. My 'get past the popular songs by the popular artists' was a hope that I would see Tiny Dancer listed for Elton John rather than some crap like 'Bennie and the Jets'.
Obscure artists are fine with me, but if nobody replies to you jump in and do it yourself to keep this thing moving!

My fave Hip song is actually from their under-rated debut album...Smalltown Bringdown.
Give me something by NKOTB.

Now we're talking Jagger. Living on Video - Ultravox.
Again. Favourite NKOTB? Personally I grooved to Step By Step. Let's not be shy folks. Everyone had a fave NKOTB track. Now let's hear it.

A little interjection here since I'm unwilling to say (falsely) that I ever 'grooved' with the New Kids....
Feel free to use an artist that's already been used if you want to. I'd just ask that the same person not reply to the same artist more than once. It's fun for me to hear different opinions.

Oooooh. Great one Jagger...Knopler's done a lot of good stuff post-Dire Straits and is also an good soundtrack composer. I like the track "What it is".
Gimme some Neil Diamond. And not Sweet Caroline...too obvious.
