I figured a $400 budget gave you plenty of room to work with. Going from the skates up*:

skates
shin pads
hockey socks
jock
hockey pants
elbow pads
gloves
helmet

*I'm pretty sure this post was a waste of my time, but don't take it personally: the man from deutschland hasn't been around in a few months, although a couple of his office mates were out last weekend and really lit it up.

Since you already have the skates and gloves, Fotze, the cost will go down considerably.

Helmet $70
Shin Pads $40
Socks $15
Jock $15
Pants $70
elbow pads $20

Roughly $230 left to spend, unless you don't have a jersey, then you're looking at roughly another $35 for practice jerseys (1 dark and 1 white).

What about a stick?

Don't you need a stick?

And can I suggest splurging the extra 3 bucks and buying a mouth guard. It will probably save you $3000 at the dentist.

Ah yes, I actually bought the $20 mouthgaurd. Of course, I didn't get it until after I got a concussion in a freak collision near center ice.

I was out blading around 9:30 last night, partly dark, after a couple brews. Not the best thing to do.. I was skating up my road really hard after I was exhausted I was just coasting with beer goggles on and pretty much was just enjoying the view until I remembered I was on blades, my legs wobbled and I know I was goin' down.

Luckily from skating on ice and blading for like 13 years I knew how to fall to minimize damage, and had my hockey stick and gloves. I fell to the side and back and reopened my half healed scab I injured by hitting a patch of gravel last week.

Blood was dripping nicely out of the freshly town off scab and that was that. Really, if I didn't already fall on that knee a week ago it would've been nothing. But it was damn near gushing out.

DON'T DRINK AND BLADE!

Drink and skate all you want because at least on ice you slide, rather then sanding your leg on some nice concrete.

Ahhh, I had to share.

You fall often on your blades?

I've only fallen twice.

Once when I was trying to teach my wife how to skate. We were coming up to a corner and had to stop for the walk light. She lost balance and fell. Her instictive reaction was to grab me for support and she pulled me down with her. What makes it more funny is that sitting at that intersectio waiting for the light to turn red, was people we knew, and they were watching us.

The other time I fell I was trying to show off... I can't remember exactly what I was doing, but I said "Watch this" and I fell flat on my face.

No, I don't know what the hell is going on lately. I've fallen maybe twice in my life before this past week.

*shakes fist at gravel patch*
*shakes fist and beer*

If I were you I wouldn't be shaking the beer though.
