Basically, this film will probably suck for those people expecting anything like what they had in their childhood.
It's going to be typical Bay summer crap. The plot is that Transformers are arriving on earth to hide amongst us and conquer us. Centers around a teenager who buys his first used car (a 70s camero) and it turns out to be Bumblebee. Later, Bumblebee gets reformated into the new Camero prototype. Robot mode for Bumblebee is a little more monstrous, a mess of pistons and mechanics with few bits of panels, etc. Much more "American" or "modern" takes on alien robots.
Megatron will either be a tank or a jet but chances are that he's a jet since Devastator is now a tank - they cheaply reuse the tank prop from that second triple x movie blarrgh. He's nolonger made of combined Constructicons. Bonecrusher is some sort of Army digging/recovery vehicle with lots of nasty hooks and things. Starscream is an F-22 reportedly and design sketches show him as a sort of monsterous piston and pipes monster with claw type hands and legs and skullish face. Bumblebee is the new Camero and there's a Decepticon called Brawl who is a "evil" Police Mustang. Optimus Prime is a new design, may turn some people off according to reports but nothing definite out for him yet.
I can post pictures of the vehicles from the set if anybody wants to see. I for one am very disappointed but I guess fans of American muscle and American military driving around in the desert might like what this movie is turning into. Nothing at all like the old Transformers we all love but that's what happens when you strap big name hollywood directors (who have no idea what things are about) to childhood dreams.
But yeah, chime in if you want set pictures of the various vehicles, etc. There's only one pic of Bumblebee in robot form so far, as prop robot on a truckbed. The rest will be CG. No Grimlock. Soundtrack will most likely be your boring typical orchestra fare. Those hoping for a classic synth and metal soundtrack like the original will be disappointed.
Typical hollywood producers ruin everything. DeBonaventure, one of those bigwig hollywood producers that don't know anything went out and said that they wouldn't consider hiring the original voice actors for the original cartoon and insulted their lack of talent and said he preferred a hollywood cast of stars like George Clooney or something. What an insult, many of those old voice actors were fantastic, have years and years of experience, and are even in the voice actors guild. Stupid hollywood and having to put stars in everything. If they had their way, Nic Cage would have been Superman.

Hack, take the photo down. Now. Hasbro or anyone at the studio sees that and this board is getting a visit from some lawyers.
And yes. This is not a remake of the cartoon. It is based on the characters from the original cartoon, but that is it.

If I see one more "lawyers" complaint I'm going to go nuts. These images are not hosted on this server. They are widely available on thousands of websites from movie preview sites, fan sites, camero sites, etc. Lawsuits are costly and rarely ever brought about. Corporate lawyers have more to do with their time than to prowl message boards. Things like this exist in a very grey area of the law. Cease and desist letters are more often than not hot wind scare tactics against things that hold little water. The chances of these images causing any sort of issue are practically nil. Lawyer paranoia is one of the most ridiculous things in the universe and is one of my greatest pet peeves.
Personally I don't think anybody who really loves the 1986 movie will like the 2007 film but that's my own opinion. Coming from someone who's nick is Blaster86, I would have thought you'd feel the same way.

Bluntly, the 1986 movie wasn't that good (remember the whole "you're not a transfan if you like the product). It was admittedly knicked from Star Wars, and apart from the Animation, some good lines (all of which I can quote on command) and Nostalgia it was just laughable. So was the Cartoon version of Blaster. While he had some good, fun lines I prefer the comic version that ****-kicked Grimlock for leadership of the Autobots as opposed to a pre-cursor to Wheelie.
I love the cartoon but I am not going to judge this because it isn't the cartoon again.
I know the movie is a new continuity. I know that it won't be a re-hash. If I accept those two things, I am sure I will love the movie because it dramatically lowers my expectations.
BTW: I've seen fourn C&D letters handed out over those photos.

To the guy defending Michael Bay movies by saying they had good action scenes. Isolated scenes do not a good movie make. The Rock was terrible. Con Air was terrible. Armageddon was terrible. Bad Boys was meh. I mean really Michael Bay is the Midas touch of #####.

Never said he makes "good" movies, but if you are looking for good action, you can look to his movies, the guy knows how to do it. Michael Bay also never did Con Air, that was SImon West.

I guess you want Transformers to be a low budget independent movie then huh?? Come on man, who else is going to do the movie besides Hollywood, a movie like this needs a big budget.
Let me set the record straight, I aint defending the movie, I havent seen it, nor do i know what it's going to be like, but on this thread, there are crap loads of people who are already judging it as crap a year before it comes out, and that's just not fair. Frankly, I think it's pretty ridiculous to say this movie is going to be garbage after watching the teaser. Saying you don't like Michael Bay is fair comment, to each his own, I got no issue with that, saying the movie looks bad after the trailer is fine too, but I guarantee some of you guys saw Bay was directing and automatically thought garbage movie. And frankly, thinking like that is garbage.

That is inaccurate as Michael Bay and Don Murphy have already said that Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime, Ironhide) has auditioned and they would like him in the movie in some form or another. I would love him as Optimus, as I love the John Wayne impersonation.
Frank Welker (Megatron, Galvatron, Soundwave, Skywarp, Rumble, Frenzy, Lazerbeak, Ravage) would more than likely be to busy for a full role in a movie like this.

Dinobots are awesome. Those were my favourite toys. Man I remember Transformer toys were soo expensive when I was little. I only got a couple and got alot as hand me downs from my cousin. I always asked for Transformers for Christmas and birthdays but it was a rare day when I actually got one.
This movie actually is starting to not look that great.

If you put it that way, there are over a dozen voice actors dead by now. But there are enough Latta impersonators around. I think the new Cobra Commander guy isn't too bad.

Terrorsaur off of Beastwars.
It will be high pitched, that's a given. Even in the newer cartoons it still has the squeal to it.
"Oh how it pains me to do this!"
