I think Tyrus Thomas is overrated. His stock went up during the tournament, but he wasn't impressive during the regular season. All of his good games during the season were against less than mediocre schools. He's gotta watch his turnovers too.

I hate Duke and am now disgusted by this garbage. How are you gonna pick Shelden Williams before Rudy Gay?

I'm now a Bocats fan! Should be an exciting team to watch with all that young talent. Felton, May, Okafor, Morrison.
Like what the Raptors did, made the right pick.
Portland is just a mess

Raps take PJ Tucker 35th overall. Haven't heard much about the guy, but he is a 6'5 forward.

Seems like one of those players who really doesn't project at any specific position. But has other all around skills.

On ESPN radio they just said that Jerry West is trying to do everything possible in trying to land Adam Morrison. They said that discussions are under way involving Morrison and Gay being swapped. A Memphis 1st round pick for '07 may be involved. Memphis is said to have lost favor of Bobby Jackson and may be looking for a pass first point guard to go with damon stoudamire. They mentioned this possibility:
Brevin Knight
Adam Morrison
for
Rudy Gay
Mike Miller or Hakim Warrick
1st round pick

And rounding out the Raptors picks is Edin Bavcic. Never heard of this guy, but he should fit right in with the Raptors, being a big man with an outside shot... ESPN has him listed at 7'5" (!), but I'm pretty sure I saw 6'11" somewhere else.
edit: yeah, ESPN is wrong (big surprise)... he's 6'11.

Well, you know Coloangleo is not done yet, the Raps don't have a starting PG yet.
A little surprising Marcus Williams fell so much, but not to surprising considering his Character issues/conditioning.
Of course, DUI Reddick then gets picked 11th overall.

Speaking of "point guard issues", I was told by a fairly reliable source that Mike James was going to be in a sign & trade. Possible destinations include; Minnesota and still, Houston(!) I just can't believe that Houston would want him back.

Do we get Alston back while we're at it? Hah.
I can't just see James coming back.

UGH! Colangelo is a west coast GM... he knows that Rafer is garbage. Mike James is demanding too much money for being a B-list point guard. They gotta move on....

I remeber the commentators talking about how the NBA game is evolving and seem to think teams will start relying more on athletic bigmen other than the tradtional post up big man.
Anyways, perhaps this is what COlangelo is thinking and in a couple years these picks will become very valuable to the team.

I definetly agree with that. The only thing you could say going against that statement is that the Eastern Confrence is still a post-up, centre conference. They're not all Amare Stoudamires (Shaq, Maagloire, May). I'm not against the athletic center, but I like big men that pound the ball in the key. I'd much rather have an athletic power who is quick enough to guard small forwards and swingmen, but can still hang if their center gets in foul trouble.

Not to mention, a team really needs to win with the athletic big man formula too to make it viable.
Heat, Spurs, Pistons and Lakers - the last few championship winners have had more of the old style C.
