I like completely made up names more, though they're really hard to come up with (names like Flickr).
Words like design, works, studio work with that kind of business.
And words about your business.. identity, idea, brand.. spin?
Identiworks? Brandify? Spinworks?
Concept, Envision.. Or more technical with words like pixel?
pixiq ? Actually I like that one, if you use that you have to pay me.

Branding (logos) is a different animal to coming up with a name and takes a different creative juice.
If you are really in Glasgow are you looking for this venture to be UK based or global (internet)?
If it's primarily for the UK, and assuming you're Canadian, you might want to come up with a name which ties in to Canada. Something like Chinook Design perhaps.
Alternately you could come up with a name which relates to your industry through using the name of a tool or an industry term. Best example I can think of is Critical Mass. It's a great name which relates to what they try and do for businesses through their web design.
Just brainstorm as many names as you can think of, have your partner do the same, and then go through them together and build on or off the ones which really catch you. You could come up with a list of I dunno...50-100 say, and pass these by people you know or people who you want opinions from. (You might want to be selective on posting the list on CP, you seem to have gotten a couple useful suggestions and a bunch not so much.)
Your next hurdle is to try and get a site which fits the name. Most of the normal dot coms are taken which might influence which name you end up with.

I hate to say it, but if you are looking for a relatively short .com, you probably will have to work backwards from that. Likely anything you think up that's good, will already be taken.
A list of recently expired domains might be a good place to start as there probably will be some better candidates in there. There are a few search engines out there that will allow you to search through expired and expiring domains.
It might also be usefull to think about how you want to visually brand yourself, even if in general terms. The best name might be the one that gives you a great idea for how to do a wordmark, logo, or specific visual presentation around. The name itself could be pretty arbitrary. When it comes to names, memorable is more important than meaningful.

I'd say try other languages.
Look up how to say/spell things in other languges and use that.
You can even make it funny.
For example you could try using
Team Awesome but in Portugese
Or
Best Company Ever but in Dutch
Edit: I have no idea what those mean, but you get the idea.
Try a few different names and different languages untill you find something you think sounds good.
Just don't make it offensive. As funny as that might be when no one understands it, eventually you'll run into someone who speaks Portugese.

How about "Expose Yourself!"
Some scantilly clad models in your web banners should attract some attention.
EDIT: "In Decent Exposure" ?

look, part of my job is evaluating vendors like this for our company, so i think i am qualified to speak. why would i hire a person to create my company image and brand when he is struggling to do it for his own company? imagine, he knows his vision better than anyone and he cant get it from brain to paper so to speak, how is he going to do that for a client? and in the niche he is in, he could very well be asked to rebrand a company, including its name.
just saying

I think it is a little bit ironic (am I using irony correctly) that this is the case... I can understand how hard it can be, and it is very brave to put your self in the position to be insulted in this manner ... it also shows that they have a grasp on one important concept of the creative process which is brainstorming - getting a lot of input then honing that to the best idea possible.

I think it would be a good idea to not go for too corny of a name, as you're likely to be catering to some serious organizations.
here's a couple great ones.
Xposium / Exposium
Also using "omni" as a prefix would be cool considering the definition of it is
Maybe Omniex?
Might wana check the google searches for those names, there are results, but I don't know how 'mainstream' those are.

It can be a big deal. Domino's Pizza was once sued to change it's name by the makers of Domino's Sugar.

They can only sue if it infringes on their brand recognition. Mattel likes to sue anyone who opens as business with "Barbie" in the name, because they feel it infringes. They just lost a recent court case and a restaurant in Quebec gets to keep their name since they are different enough. Same with a small store here in town. It was called Barbies fashions (or something like that - it is a clothing store) and she received a letter from Mattel's lawyer as well. I thing she won her case as well (although the one in Quebec went further).
Edit: Here is the story of the Quebec restaurant
