I'm a big fan of the original Rocky, but yeah the second one was better. Million Dollar Baby really kept me interested and I liked the movie a lot, I just had higher hopes for the ending, but I guess that's what made the movie.

Raging Bull.
On a side note there is a new boxing movie that is about to be filmed here in Calgary starting this weekend. It's called Resurrecting The Champ. Stars Samuel L Jackson, Teri Hatcher & Alan Alda.

I have to see Raging Bull, is that the one with DeNiro? I loved Hurricane good movie. Nice how those Canadians helped him out. Ali was pretty a good movie too, especially for a Will Smith movie.

Well, Lou Gossett has an Oscar, Woods has been nominated and I think Platt has some pretty decent work under his belt. Have they done soem b moves? Sure. But their range is better than that.

It's a documentary but Unforgivable Blackness is a fantastic look at the first African American Heavyweight champion Jack Johnson.

What was that boxing movie about that highschool kid who vapidly resembled Val Kilmer and his black buddy and they got into an old underground boxing ring and then he ended up fighting the overwieght boss (which was hilarious even though it was supposed to be dramatic) who was running a scam and screwed the kids over?

The original Rocky, the sequels were ok but none of them compares to the first one. I can watch it over and over and I never get tired of it.

Kind of a thread hijack but I saw this movie called The Proposition yesterday and it was one of the better ones i've seen in a while - passing on a recommendation (gore warning for the faint of heart), it's a weird aussie western in the Ned Kelly vein.
