Ooooooh Gattica. Good choice! Bombed at the box office because it marketed so poorly but great film.

Just the simple fact that after all the "my father is a nut" stuff he goes through, that in the end, he finishes his fathers story for him. It KILLED me man! KILLED ME!

Woud Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas apply? It was pretty poorly recieved be critics, but has an absolutely massive cult following. Watching Hunter take adrenachrome makes me giggle every time.

The Count of Monte Cristo. Best vengance movie ever made.
Agree with many of the above choices too.

God I hope you're joking. I turned that off halfway through.
I'll go with The Big Lebowski. Didn't do too well at the box office but was absolutley hillarious.

I gotta go with Office Space, that movie laid the ground work for The Office and is still a great watch the third or fourth time.
Also that one with Michael Douglas, I think it's Falling Down. That movie kicked some arse too.

What didn't you like about it? I agree the ending was a little cheesey, but as you said you didn't make it to the end.

Boondock Saints is fantastic.
Great action, some incredibly funny parts (for those that have seen it, they know the bit with the rope is pure gold), and just overall a great film.

Not one of the worst. THE worst movie ever, I watched it in the two dollar theaters and still wanted to ask for my money back afterwards.
Equilibrium was awesome.. definatley underrated. It came out the same time as the matrix I think and kind of got forgotten in all the hype.
Unbreakable was terrible.

Circle of Friends. Such a cute thoughtful movie.
Death to Smoochy. I was incredibly apprehensive about seeing this one, but I like Ed Norton so I watched it. I was pleasantly surprised. Catherine Keener is definitely underrated.

Signs underrated? Not the end of the world here, but honestly, that was amongst the worst movies I've seen. I downloaded it a month before it came out on some leak, and I was really disappointed. Good acting, I agree with you there, but just the climax and ending was just very very disappointing. It was actually a good buildup, but it just became very Disney-like towards the end. They should have made it a 2 1/2 hour movie and took it in another direction...more like a War of the Worlds type angle, but they never played on any suspense or action which they seemed to build towards.

Of the ones mentioned, I really liked Big Fish. Office Space and Super Troopers were friggin awesome, I thought.
Two others I really liked were Second Hand Lion (I don't know a single person that's seen it besides me) and The Princess Bride (is that underrated? I'm not sure how it did in the box office).

I like movies with a solid storyline, and for some reason, Tom Hanks movies stick out to me:
-The Terminal
-The Green Mile
-Catch Me If You Can
...I'm sure most here would disagree for whatever reason, but they're all pretty solid rentals that are probably better on the TV rather than the big screen.

I gotta Chime in here, Unbreakable was amazing, Boondock Saints was a great film(sad that because of the columbine thing it got pushed straight to video).
Great movie that few have watched is "Playing by Heart" amazing cast, not to bad of a story for a "chick flick" and hey, it has Jon Stewart.
Another underrated film is " The 5th Element" possibly my fav staight forward SiFi movie of all time.

It was boring and unfunny. Watching Eddie Murphy's movies seems to be a chore these days. He hasn't done anything good for almost 10 years.
