I didn't mean HE needed to beat the kids, only that they needed it.
And I don't necessarily agree with the "no adult has the right to tell other kids what to do"... Society as a whole raises kids (with parents being the primary influence) and I think all adults have a responsibility to promote good behaviour in kids (which obviously neither of those "adults" did), and restricting clearly bad behaviour is part of that.
They could have obviously done it differently. Like you said, get the building manager to come out. Or just take a seat on the ledge and politely ask them to do it elsewhere.

I agree. The guy needed to express himself more authoritatively (is that a a word?). Instead he came across as some pushover/goof and the kids chose not to listen to him.

The guy had absolutely ZERO authority... Like I said, if he has a problem call the police and ticket the brats for tresspassing.

He had the authority to tell them to get off his property. But constant empty threats? Give me a break. All that's going to do is egg the kids on and he should have known it. I think if he'd have shown the kids an appropriate amount of respect he might have gotten some back. Adults may have authority over kids, but I think that kinda relies on them actually acting like adults.
The kid in the background saying "He's just a kid! You're crazy!" was great, though. Good on him (the kid).

That security guard is a loose canon and I hope no police agency hires that tart. The situation could have been dealt with a lot better. He should not be in any position of authority.

Respect your elders. Something your generation doesn't understand, and it is getting worse and worse all the time.
That guy has every right to tell the kids to stop skating there. Unfortunately for him he doesn't know how to do it without making him self look like an idiot.

Seeing something like that can make a person want to declare war on all skaters.

The only good thing about that video is that you just know that since then that punk tried one of his stunts on the wrong guy and wound up with that skateboard shoved down his throat. Too bad we won't see that on the internet.

If not, the old dude is in the wrong. I think its likely that either himself or one of his kids slipped on it and that is why he is ****ed. It is unlikely a guy like that (high socks, backpack, dog on leash, kids) would go after them for no reason.
It reminds me of the a$$es in Pricess Elizabeth Park who right when you cross the bridge from the YMCA they are jumping off the stairs and when you keep walking (since bikers/skatboarders dont have the right of way) they get ****ed at you. I know from experience that kids (age 13-17) tend to be quite brattish and frequently swear. If you were in a bad mood, it wouldnt take much of that to put you over the edge.

Except for the first sentence, you're dead wrong. The guy has ZERO right to touch the kid or his skateboard unless the kid was trying to hit his children with it or something. And it would take a hell of a lot more than slipping on board wax to make me go after a 13 year old kid.

Wow that kid's so tough with his skateboard in his hand. Watching people like that actually ****es me off, but then I remember karma's a bitch and he's gonna end up in the hospital for his antics and I calm back down.

True, but the law says that you can use whatever forces is reasonable necessary to remove someone who is trespassing on your property.

Is it his property? It looks like a public place to me.
