If they did give him one for pulp fiction they probably would have taken it away for XXX or XXX 2
or his next movie http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0417148/
Sometimes I think Samuel L. Jackson doesn't know how to say no when offered a part in a movie

American Psycho was an awesome movie, the book was about ten times as twisted if you can even imagine that. And his performance in batman was pretty good too.

I was just about to post the same thing. An extremely memorable performance in a very important and moving film.

I second the nomination of Johnny Depp. I think he is such a versatile actor. He can play so many different roles and you don't see Johnny Depp, you see the character. There are so many movies where you see the actor and you can't picture him as the character, you just see the movie star.

Daniel Day Lewis should have won for his performance as Bill "The Butcher" Cutting in Gangs of New York. IMO, Adrien Brody wasn't even the best actor in The Pianist let alone 2002.

Forest Whitaker has one in his future I think. If not as an actor then as a director.

Edward Norton's never won an Academy Award, but he's been nominated twice. However, Jim Carrey (he of great performances in The Truman Show, Man on the Moon and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) has won a bunch of Golden Globes...but has not even gotten a single Oscar nomination.
A travesty.

The Academy Awards are vastly overrated now..... they are used as political tools now, instead of real awards...
Golden-Globes are better i feel..
regardless.... I cant beleive that Keanu hasnt been nominated....

You may want to check out John Wayne (175 credits)
Samuel has a ways to go to catch him.

How about Christopher Lee from Lord of the Rings. He has the longest listing I've seen on IMDB, 258! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000489/ That man scares the crap out of me!

Sure I would. In the last 20 years I'd guess that there have been more roles in better movies for 'African-American' actors. It makes sense that that would translate into more nominations and award, and that 'making up for the past' would have little, if anything, to do with it.
I would say that 4 awards out of 4 major categories in the last 6 years isn't making up for anything.

What about Kurt Russell? Has he ever won? He's done some less than stellar movies, but I think he is a fantastic actor that deserves some recognition... Not bad to look at either.
