There was a lot of controversy swirling around his departure from the show. Conspiracy theorists figure he threw the competition near the end and only wanted the exposure to promote his own band. He didn't really fit in with the whole "Idol" thing but had a buttload of talent, relative to others on the show...

Yeah, actually, I thought I'd even read an interview where he even said himself that he only entered it for sh*ts and giggles and wasn't serious about it, but wanted exposure for his band. And did you ever hear about how a copy of his single got 'stolen' or something and was floating around the Internet? Maybe this guy is a marketing genius!!!

Yeah, but at least April Wine will be there to fully represent bad Canadian classic rock.

Stop talkin about my girlfriend man. I honestly don't know however if I would be as attracted to her as I am if she wasn't Portuguese.

... and there was the whole thing with CTV making him take down his blog. And the reaction on Jake's face when he sang his farewell song - the exact same song he sang the night before only butt-loads better. Jake had this look like "You F'ing idiot you are totally playing us!"

I still think he puts the two finalists, and any other contenders in Canadian Idol, to shame. Just wish that when he sang, he didn't look like he was preparing for a deep anal probe.

My buddy has worked security at some of his shows and pretty much came to the conclusion that he was a ######bag.
