Amen, brother. I'm hoping to get there myself. After all, why should we torture ourselves over the outcomes of events we can't in any way control and that in no material way affect us?

Being a sports fan is a hobby. It "matters" in the same way that winning a poker tournament with your friends "matters." Losing sucks, but if you can't leave with a smile on your face, you shouldn't play.

Meh. When the team plays that poorly it is hard for me to get upset at the loss. We were clearly not the better team for the entire series. That makes things a little easier compared to the SCF in 04. That was a tough one. I do agree with Igottago's points.

I've said it here before, people's expectations of this team were WAY too high. All this talk about 'if they dont make the final, win the cup, win the conference I will be devastated and the season will be a writeoff' was so ridiculously over the top.

Anyway, positives? I get to shave...save some money...be more productive in general. Not all bad I guess. Oh, and the biggest positive? We didnt have to risk losing to the Oilers.

at first I was upset and could not sleep. It was disapointing after soo much regular season success. I was too hyped up off the Flames Kool Aid and thought they could make it further. Thats the way she goes.

It does give the team a chance to fix it problems and be better next year. The first round of the palyoffs is always the hardest. All 4 top seeds getting knocked off helps too. Its the Wild West.

Guess its baseball season again for me. I'll be cheering on the mariners again as I always have, it'll be good though, they'll probably end up doing very poorly and I'll take those poor expectations right into hockey season again.

The one thing that nobody had during the 2004 playoff run was expectations.

We are all shocked and disappointed by this turn of events, but I don't know what's worse, the fact that we got eliminated or Edmonton advanced....

Yea, those 5 stages were pretty suprisingly accurate, especially with the isolation. Just went up to my room, shut the door, and stayed their alone for a few hours.
