I guess I don't feel that strongly against Celerons, and depending on the purpose they can do the job just fine. A good example is my current laptop; although Penium it is a PIII- 1 Ghz. (750 Mhz on battery.) It has more than enough power for what I need it to do. Now let me qualify that- I only use it for when I travel; which is often on dial up as well. For somebody with my needs in a laptop who is buying new, would you say I should skip the Celeron and go with a Pentium?

...I would . But yeah, I guess it depends. To me, reliability and longevity is important in almost anything I do get. But I do get what your saying. It's all about preferences.

That Second one is really good value for what you're paying for. However, AMD is better known for a desktop processor than a laptop/notebook processor. Though my friend did not experience any problems with his AMD Turion 64 (pretty much completely different than an AMD sempron), I still think that Pentium M processors are the safer way to go.
