I might be looking for work during the playoffs, so going to an interview with 2 weeks growth probably isn't the smartest idea...
Not if you go in Game day WITH a THE DION Jersey on... You will at least be VP of operations with that!!

I started growing a beard the day we clinched in '04 unfortunately I forgot to shave it off when we lost. I have had a beard ever since. On Sunday after clinching against the Canucks I shaved for the first time in 2 years with the intent of regrowing a playoff beard. I walked down stairs and freaked my daughter out who had never seen me without a beard because she was born right before the playoffs in '04

My wife complained for the first round in '04 - then I reminded her that the last time the Flames were in the playoffs was just before we were married, and that maybe it was her karma or the whole married thing that threw the Flames off for 7 years - there were no more complaints through the rest of the playoffs.

Can you start a week early? Maybe a "Battle for the division" beard first?

I feel that if you are a little slower than a John Tonelli, Mark Hunter or Dave Lowry in growing facial hair you can start when a playoff position is clinched. That way you have a fighting chance to look have decent in the first round. Heaven forbid Giordano is playing in the playoffs for us, but if he is I think he might have a nice little beard going by the end of the Third...period.

Is this really off-topic? I have been expecting this thread to pop-up on the front page for a couple days now.

I will be growing my playoff beard once again. The playoffs in '04 represented the first time in my over-16 life I EVER went more than three or four days without shaving. I had no idea what to expect, but it actually filled in quite nice.

The funny part of the story is that May '04 represented me living in Calgary for 5 years...meaning I had to get my picture taken for my drivers license!! So the guy who has NEVER had facial hair now has a DL picture with a six-week-old beard....at least until '09.

I think I trimmed mine a bit, as the neck area drove me CRAZY and I didn't want it to get too out of control, ala KG.

Same thing happened to me. I thought about it for a day or two - do I shave this thing for my official photo? They just kept winning. The beat SJ and the next day I had to go get it done - but they made it to the finals, so I kept the beard.

I'll have mine too and this time I'll take a picture before I shave it off. I trimmed it about an hour after game 7 last year. Mine was totally out of control, I shaved the neck(can't stand the neck hair) but the rest was nutty. Can't wait. The playoff beard subject came up somehow during a FLames game last week I was watching with the girlfriend, she was.. appauled at the idea again... awesome lol.

I'm gonna start growing a beard now for the 07/08 playoffs, because that is about the only way I will have one worth keeping

My playoff beard will be a playoff patch on my chin, since that is about the only place hair grows, but it will be there!
