I like Japan Air Lines and West Jet.
Whenever I go to Japan to see my fiance's family we fly Japan Air Lines. You get all the alcohol you can drink and each seat has a TV and you play games on the tv or watch movies.
West Jet. They have good service and i like the TV's. I always fly West Jet from Van to Calgary.
Worst Airlines:
Air Canada
Delta Airlines
American Airlines

British Airways. I only flew it once and it was years ago, but it was definitely the best experience that I have ever had! It ruined me for all other airlines...

The old PWA was pretty good. I remember getting served a steak dinner on a flight from Vancouver to Calgary. The present airline and all transportation services are mostly crap.

Air New Zealand is the only other airline I've flown on other than West Jet and Air Canada and it beat both of them easily.

haha, yeah!!
But in fairness i think that ~49% is owned by Bangkok Airways and that is an EXCELLENT airline.
They both use the ATR-72's (although Bangkok Airways also has some 717's and 320's) and the service and customer lounges are WAY beyond what you get here for the same money and length of flights. They have free FOOD, magazines, and drinks in their (all coach, but look first class) lounges and they hand out refreshing clothes before take off. And then even on a 50 minute hop you get a boxed lunch of good food.
To top that off i thought it hilarious that Siem Reap also has a nicer airport then New York City (Laguardia)!!! So sad really...

Hmmm..since Claeren was on the subject of airports, what's the worst airport you've had to displeasure of setting your foot on? For me, it has to be LAX. That airport seemed like it was run by some sort of angry biting animal. Everyone (from the information clerk to the security guard) acted like jerks. The worst airport in the world.

Wardair and CP were the best for domestic. Never flown on an international airline other than the crap ass american ones. My mom got a breakfast on one of them and is was no joking a hotdog wrapped in a pancake.
Air Canada is closly approaching some of the American carriers.

Air Canada international isnt that bad...they could really use some stewardesses that are below 50 though. Korean Air was not bad, 'cept when all the old korean ladies took their shoes off, it started to smell. Has anyone ever flown PhilippinesAir?? taking them to Manila (Boracay) next month

Probably Cathey Pacific is the most memorable airline I've ever flown even if it was only a real short hop from Manchester to Paris. They could have treated us so-so as we were not one of the people continuing on the long haul but they didn't. They were nothing short of superb.
I've also really enjoying flying KLM. Great service, always accomodating, have bumped me up to business class on a number of occasions which is always nice!
I liked the Westjet service we flew to Orlando recently, especially the satallite TV's in the seatbacks. Pity that no food is served though.
I've had both good and bad luck the many times I've flown Air Canada between Canada and the UK. Sometimes they've been extremely good while others simply dreadful. There's no consistancy.

Since moving to the UK I've completely fallen in love with British Airways. I fly with them about once a month and I haven't had a single complaint.
All others are a tie for "bearable". Glad to hear that Malaysian is a good one, I booked a long haul for next month with them with really no idea what they were like.

You'll love Malaysian Airlines. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the food is above average. I can't tell you how many times I've been asked if I needed anything (when I'm awake). The entertainment unit was a good touch as well. I was able to select a choice of movies, tv shows, games, or news.

Aer Lingus is the best I've flown but I've only flown them for one round trip (New York-Dublin). I've also flown British Airways a few times and liked it.
air Canada while still not great has seemed to have gotten better the past year.

I have flown with them for 4 segments.
Not GREAT but not horrible. They had older planes then their main asian competitors but the service was very good and the food surprisingly decent. Everything was on time and such...
Not so big on Manila Airport - Manila in general is pretty sketchy though! The airport is REALLY nice and all glass and stuff but then you realize it is kind of a facade and underneath it is poor and such, and there are way too many BIG guns and metal detectors all over that city.

I have flown a lot over the last few years (makes up for having never flown or even travelled until i was 23) and for me airports have often become a microcosim for the truth behind different countries mentalities.
America inparticular. They are supposed to be so 'rich' of a country but their airports overwhelmingly SUCK. There are a few notable exceptions but their strong desire to avoid all taxes and extra fee's prevents anything from being improved. They are overwhelmingly falling apart, are dirty, are stuck in the '80's, are stuffy and poorly ventilated and lit, sell chinzy crap, and are full of fat people in (unneeded other then for their massive bulk) wheelchairs. Whereas in say... Canada (Or Hong Kong, or Bangkok, or so on), we might complain as comsumers about all the added fee's and such but i would put YYC, YVR and YYZ against virtually any American competitor in the same size class, often by a embarrassingly large margin.
Trust me when i say that when you are stuck in airports for many hours, have long layovers, or have veyr long journeys the extra ~$30's in fees doesn't seem like a big deal anymore.
That being said, i have always found American airports to be FAR more friendly then Canadian ones. Our custom's staff in Canada are some of the scariest i have ever encountered - Of the 7 countries i have visited in the past 18 months (Customs cleared in: HongKong, Thailand (x5), Laos(x2), Cambodia, Phillippines, USA(x6), Canada(x8)) it is easily the most intimidating.
That all being said, the worse i would say is Laguardia in NYC.
Claeren.

Y U L - DORVAL
In Montreal - easily the worst - Frankfurt comes close. Dorval has stairs that lead into walls - I am sorry but what crack baby architect designed that shat hole.
