Canada not on pace for 20 medals any more: If all goes wellHockey 2, Curling 2, Bobsledding 2, skeleton 1. = 8+2+2+2+1=15

Canada might get 1-3 more medals in skiing.

How do you fall, and win a medal?

Because he completely rotated on his quad so it still counts as a jump.
Sandhu is a loser. I'm glad we have someone else with some sort of potential because he is never going to do anything.

Plushenko skated pretty amazing. He hit everything perfectly except one triple that he only doubled. No one else in the field even had a chance at gold. But the rest of that statement is pretty true. Silver - about 8th was pretty wide open.

They still have tonnes of short and long track skating and the aerial skiing event where they are favoured to win too. The target of 25 was a little high - and why they canadian olympic people set a target I can't understand - but I think there is a good chance they will break their medal record @ 17.

YEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
I didn't see Eman or Shawn skate...(but did read through 70 pages of PBP). I'll catch the re-broadcast later tonight.
What a 'blah' competition, though. No one was clean, lots of mediocre skating. I'm not a Plushenko fan, though at times I enjoy his programs. This year, they were craptacular. What a *boring* long program. He was slow, reserved in his emotions, with poor choreo.... 4.5 minutes later, and it's like "i'll take my medal now. Thanks & so long!" He needs someone to push him. He's the best skater in the world, no doubt, and he really didn't even need to try tonight.
Buttle's choreography & interpretation saved him. I'm thrilled for him, as I didn't think he even had a chance.
Weir, the American had a total brainfart which probably cost him a medal. He neglected to complete an 8th jumping pass, so he didn't even rack up as many points as he could have.
Being a huge fan of Dr. Sandhu & Emanuel Hyde is very bad for lucid's heart. He deserves a kick in his skinny fataing ass for his pathetic showing at the Olys. Loser!
Lambiel didn't look great either. But then again, no one did. I'm also a big fan of his... and I'm happy with the podium.
/rant over
(I feel a bit better, thanks!)

I agree with you on Emanuel, lucid. So much potential, but sucks when it counts. He needs to give his head a shake.
I'm really impressed with Shawn. He has a tonne of potential and holy flexibility batman! I can't wait to see the three of them continue developing for the 2010 Olympics. Hopefully Sandhu can find his head before then.

The new scoring system. Marks are awarded more for attempts now. Touching your hand on the ice is only a -1. And Buttle did the quad but Fell but he attempted the quad which not many people do so he got +5 for that even though he fell. Basically, they are encouraging tougher moves and not the same old triples and doubles. But I agree more people should hit them for the competition to be at the Olympic level. Wasn't even close for 1st........basically it was everyone else goin for 2nd and 3rd.

Sandhu **** the bed big time. I'm not a fan of figure skating but my mom and sister are big fans and told me he has tons of potential to do well but always chokes when it matters. My mom said he should give up skating and try to get into modeling with the hairdo he has.

Tonnes of talent. He does not have the head or mind for competition, and I don't think he'll ever have it.
He's already gotten into modelling, actually. Now he wants to sing too (He really can't sing, imo) He is such the 'artiste' & diva!
I don't see Sandhu being around for 2010. I suspect he'll have lost all focus (as if it isn't aparent already) & motivation by that time.
