Poor Brawn. He was my favorite Transformer (and one of the few that my cheap ass parents actually bought for me). I don't ever remember seeing the movie but that Ambulance memory of Jiri's sounds familiar. Guess I have a rental for this weekend.

thundercats

pfft.

They were a second rate toy with absolutely no longevity other than the fad that swept a lot of people up. I was born the year the show began, but I remember it clearly.

Transformers, GI Joes, those franchises have legs, because let's just face the white elephant in the room on this discussion, War and Fighting Robots are COOL. Feline Superheroes and ugly mutants not nearly as cool.

That movie killed my childhood. I used to love Wheel Jack and Soundwave was pretty cool, glad he found work again showing up on Family guy.

Hey, I liked Transformers alot more then Thundercats too, but Thundercats was my 3rd favourite cartoon after Transformers and then GI Joe. GI Joe the movie was pretty cool too, especially when Cobra Commander turned into a real snake.

The movie had some awesome 80s metal (with Canadian connections too) - aside from the poppy anthems like "The Touch" -> a funny story, the producer of Boogie Nights liked the song from Transformers the movie so he put it into Boogie Nights and Mark Mahlberg sings it in the studio in the part where Dirk Diggler is down on his luck and trying to start a singing career in 1983!!!

Theme Song by Lion

Here's the end of the movie where Galvatron - Leonard Nimoy (Spock) tries to kill Hot Rod - Judd Nelson (the tough guy from the Breakfast Club):

Haha! Check this out!

It's a giant live-action Optimus Prime and then it's the music video for the song from the movie (The Touch) that's also in Boogie Nights. Crazy, Stan Bush played it on a Gibson Les Paul!

Starscream or if it was the big plane that they found in ice, skyfire. Depends on what colour it was. I remember there were a few F-16 decepticons. Skyfire was the plane that looked like a Robotech mech.

My favorite part of the movie is when Optimus Prime lands on earth in the begining. That moment I thought was pricless. The pan across the battle field, him saying it ends here then transforming and proceeding to the battle field running over decepticons, him transfroming back and doing that slowmo flip shooting and landing by Megatron challengin him one last time. Really priceless.

That was one of my favourites too. Prime was definately a hero. I also liked the song that went with that scene

"You got the touch. You got the power. Yeah!" Very heroic song.

Quoting the old but wise Kup "Prime did it. He turned the tide"
