I just tried to order online. I put in about 5 different Calgary addresses. Each one came back with "The Postal Code entered is not in the Rogers service area. Please verify that the postal code entered is correct and try again, or call 1-888-ROGERS1 for further assistance."

What do you guys think of cia.com?
They advertise phone and internet service for $39.95/mo. Unlimited local, $0.03/min long distance, 7.0 Mbps internet.
I'm having some problems with Shaw, thinking of switching.
Anything I should look out for with this cia company?

A guy I know from another forum tried CIA and was quite happy with it. I was considering giving them a try.

One thing buddy did mention- the price doesn't include cable modem or VoIP router rental. Apparently though if you own your Shaw cable modem then you are OK on that side.
I think I recall something about being able to keep your Shaw email addresses for $2 per month, and you should be able to move your phone number over if you don't mind waiting a month.

I just signed up. I'll be able to use my current Shaw modem, but I'm buying the Voice router.
$39.95/mo
$0.03/min for long distance in North America. I rarely use the phone, I'll be saving $20 a month for sure.

When did you sign up with Vonage? They charged me $80 for the voice modem in September, *******s.
The $39.95/mo price from cia includes internet.

I got my cia service activated this past weekend. The customer service guys are ok, they got confused a couple times but everything got done.
Have to wait 2 - 3 weeks to get my phone number transfered, so I'm still using the Vonage phone.
I do have a temp number from cia, activating that tonight. I'll let you know how the call quality is.

There's a couple of guys who have it over in this other forum: http://www.digitalhomecanada.com/for...ad.php?t=32336
Thanks in advance Kryzsky for posting your opinion. Somebody has to be the guinea pig. (waits for Fotze's comment on that one.)

I pay $38 per month; it's normally $43 if you are renting the modem.
I heard that CIA also charges a $5 fee unless you already own your Shaw modem. Just something to factor in when looking at the cost.
