Nope. Much more afraid of the Liberals and especially the NDP agenda, let alone if the NDP had a hidden one.

FlamesAddiction's comments sum it up pretty well.
I'm not really "afraid" of Harper. I'm worried of a hidden party agenda as it's not really clear to me who really won the party merger but imagine there are enough moderates to keep the more radical views in check.

As long as he does what he said he's going to do, I'm cool with the CPC getting a minority. I'm hoping for a stronger NDP presence in the house, as I think they're a better counterbalance for the Conservatives than the Liberal Party is right now.

No, but Harper's devilish look really disturbs me, he seems to try too hard to smile and it's just plain un-natural. Spin machine or not he DOES look like he's got something to hide even when he in fact doesn't. I'd be much more comfortable with MacKay as party leader. Although that is a very minor beef and obviously won't change my vote.

No. I'm not scared of his personal agenda or him. And I think I know what their agenda is which I'm not scared of, I just don't like a lot of it. I think there are some within his party that will be interesting to see when the gag order is off from the run up to the election, so to speak.
I guess regarding cuts, I work in the cultural industry and although its not exactly a paper mache museum there are always concerns. Poor paper mache museum workers.

I'm not afraid of his hidden agenda, if he has one. I'm afraid of his agenda.
But yes, I find the man himself quite scary.
My local paper's cartoonist Raeside had a very good one this morning:

So my answer depends on whether you consider that a "Harper Hidden Agenda"

The Liberal Senate, and the Liberal SCoC would block any supposed attempt.
Or, to answer the question: no.

Yes. Particularly in the case of the Maritimes. I don't think he gives a rats ass about them.

Certianly not.
He may be akward sometimes in front of the camera when it comes talking casually, but that's not "scary" or hiding anything.
The "muzzled Conservatives" others are worried about are no more dangerous then the desperate Liberals that are making unsubstainaited serious false charges (situation in Saskatoon on Wed/Thur) as a last ditch effort.

No.
I'm much more scared of what the Liberals will do if they end up being elected again as they've certainly proven that's nothing beneath them..........

I think the hidden agenda crap is the dumbest thing I've ever heard people suckered into in my life. Every party and every candidate has things they'd like to do, but probably won't get a chance to, or couldn't do cause its unpopular. Harper is no different than Martin, Layton, Duceppe or anyone else that has ever run in Canada. Plus, the Courts and Senate are full of Liberal faithful, who may even block intelligent acts, let alone "evil hidden agenda stuff."
And to answer your question... no, I'm not afraid of Stephen Harper.

MacKay? Really? This is the same MacKay who won the PC leadership job by promising to NOT merge with the Alliance who then did just that a few months later right? I'd actually be more afraid of him as leader as I don't trust anything the dude says after that little maneuver.

And Martin does? The Atlantic Accord was a Conservative promise that Martin stole, and then tried to quietly forget about until Williams forced him to live up to his end of the bargain.

MacKay is a pretty decent guy IMO, it was out of his hands by the time the merger happened, the old PCs don't stand a bloody chance in hell with the Alliance breathing down their necks, he did what was best for his party at the time, it was either that or end up like the NDPs with 10 seats, IF THAT. Now if he said what I just pointed out verbatim to the PC faithfuls in the PC leadership race he wouldn't have gotten the job and the PC would've been ruined. This guy portraits the moderate Conservative that wins votes that's why it would be best for him to serve as party leader when so many people are afraid of Harper, whether influenced by Paul Martin's silly ads or Harper's own inability to mask his "devilish" look.
The only thing that would make me weary of MacKay's judgement is that he dated a bitch like Berlinda
