He's an amazing story. Going from not being even drafted in the juniors to a 7th round pick to being an elite or close to an elite defenseman in the league. He was always the part that stung in the Tkachuk trade from Florida's pov.

Big big fan of Weegs. My kind of guy. Will be missed.
Took the sting out of the Huberdeau trade debacle.
All the best.

I am sure he will love it in Utah. I look at them as a team on the rise, and Calgary is going to do a bit more declining here yet before they start back up that hill. I hope he turns his game around, and gets another 20 goal season.

Weegar was a great player, and he was a great person his whole time in Calgary. He was a captain without the C. He played hard. He cared. He was a true team player, including when he waived his no trade clause. He had some seasons of truly great performance. When he comes back, I hope the team and the fans show him a lot of appreciation. He absolutely deserves it.

Its too bad the Flames saw zero playoff success while he was here. Goodluck to him, seems like a good guy!

I also hope he finds some success in Utah. He was a good soldier who played nearly every game and really did care. On a better team slotted in a more suitable role, I hope he bounces back.

Weegar was the best piece from the Tkachuk trade.
Thank you for your time here, the honesty, and the new building. Thank you for carrying your partner for the last 2 years, and playing some great hockey. I just wish you could've won here. Now go have a great season in UTA!

Thanks Weegs for your years of service to the Flames. Thanks for the arena, too. You'll get a warm welcome on your first game back to Calgary.

Its a shame he wont be in Flames silks for the opening of the new arena. I felt like this year was a tough one and he will bounce back. I expect we will see a bit of a rebound in Utah. All the best to him, this is a tough character player to lose from the team.

This one really bothers me. He didn't have to sign, but he did. Got us the new arena. Wore his heart on his sleeve, never quit. Was my choice for next Flames captain...
The 'business' side of hockey sucks.
