Speaking of 7x7 where does this deal leave Frederic? Is he basically off the team at this point? What the heck are they going to do with him for the next 7 seasons? lol

They were one bottom 6 forward away from being a defensively sound team.
Welcome to the cup champions Jason.

Nothing says loading up for a run quite like picking up a couple of Who?!s from the 28th ranked team.

Sudden retirement for a prestigious scouting position that pays inordinately well.

Dickenson is a defense first player that won't feel like he's been horribly misused by Edmonton coaching staff. Or maybe he will anyway.

I could see Mangiapane and a 2nd and 4rd going back pretty easily. That may not be enough on the Oiler side.

I hope Mangiapane enjoys being a Rockford Ice Hog.

They'll need much more in cap savings to pull this off. It would need to include 50% retention, which is Chicago's last retention spot for this year.

That might need to be a first, or at least 2 seconds, which Chicago loves to collect.

It's more fun when teams don't do the coilers any favors and let them drown in their cap problems.

Would have to be a pretty amazing condition on that oilers pick.

Cut that ice time and opportunity in Edmonton, and he is like a 15 point player for more than $4 million/year.

Hope the pick is another good one. Hawks basically eating a year of a pretty significant salary. At least a 3rd I'm hoping. Maybe with conditions upgrading to a higher pick based on team or player performance criteria for dickinson

Another mediocre player that no one has ever heard of. And a forward to boot? Just what the Oilers need, lol. What a pathetically hilarious franchise.

The Oilers 2026 pick to SJ is top 12 protected, but it becomes unprotected if SJ trades the 2027 1st. So perhaps the condition is that if Edmonton gets top 12 pick, the 2027 pick becomes 2028 pick, so Edmonton doesn't lose a top 12 pick in 2026.

I assume Chicago would also retain 50% of Dickinson's salary. And throw in a prospect as well, a B guy.
