Yeah it's been renewed now.

Seeing 2031 as a real year in the not too distant future is deeply disturbing for some reason.

It'll take a while for the DNS change to propagate so if you can't access the site just wait longer.

Now we’re back. Thank god. I almost had to read the Reddit GDT. As if I want to converse with a bunch of uppity 13 year olds.

For the purefindresults.com thing is that maybe when the domain wasn't pointing to the right place?

I don't see anything in the HTML of the site pointing to that domain and I'm not aware of anything that would be using it.

So, technically, could someone have sniped the site as soon as it expired? D'oh, missed opportunities!!

More reassuring if you think about how the Flames could be on to their second or possibly third Cup in a row by that year once all the young core pieces gel into an unstoppable juggernaut. :-)

The site keeps going back to that purefindresults page after a while for me.

Looks like at least this registrar has a grace period where they change the DNS (to get your attention) but won't let someone else buy the domain for 30 days. So that's a bit of peace of mind against getting the domain name poached.

DNS changes can take a while to propagate and there might be DNS caching going on at various levels so sometimes takes a while for things to fully propagate. Could reboot the computer (or just run "ipconfig /flushdns"), but if your computer is using your router as DNS and the router has it cached that won't help. Could reboot the router. Or change the computer's network adapter to use a different set of DNS (like Google offers DNS servers on 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) for a while.

As SportsJunky apparently cannot access the forum at all, from any device, I think the issue has not totally resolved.

Often the fix for DNS change issues is "just wait longer"

So true. When we changed hosts at work, propagation was lightning fast across most of the internet. Within 10 minutes. But there were a few outliers that took a couple of days.
