Taking a while to get to 5000

See, when an insider like Pierre is all “I wonder about team X” when a player is held out that’s about the safest time to predict the player is going to team X

I'm jealous of the Isles. The have the 2nd most exciting young player in hockey, the best goalie in the league signed long term, look like a lock for the playoffs, have two first rounders this year, and have the cap space to take a gamble on Palat while acquiring more draft capital. Their future is bright.

Very much like this. No retention means Dougie might be on the move.

I actually don't like this for the Isles. Yeah they get some picks but also Palat for an extra year at that hit, when he's looked pretty terrible. Maybe Darche thinks he'll rebound on the Island?

Yeah, why the hell are you helping your rival in the middle of the season? This makes zero sense for the Isles unless they got paid more to take on Palat. Devils got lucky here.

Flames should have done this trade and then could have gone out and afterwards, trade posposil and coleman away to other teams.

Probably could have gotten a 2nd for a retained Coleman.

The likelihood that the Calgary Flames were on his 10 team trade list has to be almost zero which means the Flames could not have done it.

They don’t have enough of a young core or high end prospects. Schaefer was a good bit of luck but if they just go back to the middle what did they accomplish?

He probably doesn’t even have to move and just has a longer (or shorter) commute.

I don’t think much of their vets. They don’t seem very clutch and they have some long expensive contracts.

Palat had been an anchor. Huge win for New Jersey here
