Backlund should not be our best player. Good game by Andersson despite the minuses. Can’t see his trade value getting any higher.

Andersson’s trade value long been established. This is not the stock market. Teams don’t day trade.

If that’s Rasmus’s last game as a flame, what a way to go out. Guys an absolute stud

Zary and Sharangovich have been solid lately.

If even half our wingers were playing well at the same time this team would be unrecognizable. Lucky if we get two or three each game.

Seems like no matter how many games we lose, the Jets and Canucks continue to suck even worse. This is turning out to be the worst season from the Flames in god knows how long, giving us a legit shot at the #1 pick, and yet we still have so many forces working against us. So annoying.

I think the Flames will finish 31st. Winnipeg will overtake them at some point.

Thats why lots of people are against the prospect of 'tanking.'

Its harder than it looks, again, its why I keep saying we want to do the 'ethical tank' because there are plenty of other teams that really, genuinely suck and we can't out-suck them.

So we trade away all of our Vets...for what? The slightly improved possibility of drafting one slightly better player?

I get that, but I’m not going to sweat the positioning too much. At best you get a 25% chance to win the draft lottery, and still a 55% to draft 3rd. Luck will be needed to get into the top 2 no matter what. With the schedule difficulty to come for the Flames, I’m pretty confident at this point they will be bottom 2 or 3, and let the draft lottery deal them their fate. They might not out tank Vancouver, they are real bad, but should be worse than WPG and STL

Ya looking at a team like Vancouver, they look like they're going to just get worse for the next few years as well. Petterson is borderline to old for their timeline

They lose a lottery or two and they're screwed.

Definitely made for an entertaining game, and that level of chippy play made me really want the Flames to win this one. Oh well, onto the next.
3rd assist on the Backlund goal, unfortunately

I know Kadri has struggled lately… but tonight I thought he was really bad. That long turn away to center ice on the GWG was not a good look. I don’t think it was a coincidence that he was not out there for the 6-on-5 with 40 seconds left. Hopefully he picks it up soon. Would like his value restored and hopefully traded for a good return.

We trade away our vets to get an extra 3 first round picks. Vets who won’t be around when we are good again.

Maybe. But I think you're going to be somewhat underwhelmed at the return they're going to generate and, furthermore, Draft Picks, even 1st Rounders, are a handful of Magic Beans.

At some point, father time will hit him like a wall... that is why they need to try and trade him asap..he may have already stsrted to decline.

We're going to miss Ras when he's gone. We might get something great for him in the end, but we're still going to miss him.

I’m not looking forward to it. At this rate I’d rather Weegar dealt than Andersson. Weegar has been awful this season. But, still has value based on that great cap hit with great term.

At least the Jets are winning late in the 3rd. That's something.
