I think it was always known Kadri would be willing though, right?
The real question is can the Flames be convinced to let go of him.

I am a fan of trading all 3 if it is happening in Frank’s world where he says the Flames have 3 of the premier trade chips. Andersson and Coleman should 100% be traded this season and if the offer is strong for Kadri then it makes all the sense in the world to deal him. If the offer for Kadri is not the strongest and best deal for the Flames to make out of the 3 then I am fine with and understand keeping him into the summer. They can revisit a trade in the summer or go into the season with him next year and see what happens.

Oh, I meant this year sorry. I believe our insiders as well as Dreger even have mentioned for a while that Kadri would be open to moving. And that he was willing to work with the Flames on this.

the fact that Kadri has an opinion on this confirms that The Flames have asked him?

I think his after hours interview in November (?) pretty much left it open to assume he knows that's a good possibility to be traded.

The question on Kadri is whether Conroy can get the return he wants. If Wennberg is worth 6 million bucks then Kadri is a steal at 7 million a year. Teams are getting a guy who is both a very good player, Stanley Cup champion and on a value contract. All 3 of those things have value. He would definitely sign for more than 21 million over 3 years if he was on the market this summer.

For the right price, yes I think the Flames will move him, but I don’t think the price has been met. If the Habs offered Hage, I am sure the flames would make the trade but I’m sure all the contenders are just offering junk right now.
Flames should not be giving their assets away. Flames had to pay top dollar for players when they were contenders, there is no way they should be selling for mediocre returns, it just isn’t right.
I don’t believe any of the narrative that Edwards doesn’t want to move veterans because he wants to make the playoffs. I think the offers just aren’t there. Just look at the trades that have been made, only the Lindholm trade return was good.

Kadri to Detroit would make some sense.

To be fair…so are most of the players. Not sure that’s indicative of anything special.

all coming together nicely for Conroy and the Flames. Bottom five team + a key UFA + two more vets with a lot of interest around the league ... rebuilding sucks, but this is such a huge opportunity. Want to have an exciting team once the new barn is ready? This is your chance. Don't eff this up.

I don’t think Kadri would return a haul. Late first or a good prospect and a cap dump if required. Don’t see where he returns a top prospect without the Flames adding.

That's the thing. The right transactions this season are basically a supercharging event in this team's rebuild. Get decent returns on the vets plus a top 5, maybe even a top 3 pick? It would be a spectacular step forward for the future. Has to happen.

This might sound harsh, but I honestly don't understand why Kadri gets to have an opinion on this. He has a 13 team-no trade list, so I doubt the list is made up from 13 contenders. If a team is one of the 18 teams not on the list, then he shouldn't get to consider anything. The Flames need to do what's best for them and get the best return, what's best for Kadri should come 2nd.

His list probably does have a bunch of of contenders on it. it has Carolina on it. I would guess both Florida teams as well, also Dallas. Maybe not Colorado but do they need him?
