For Lindstrom, this season is all about getting back into game shape, building strength and staying healthy. He's missed a year of crucial development, and that's in addition to him missing half a season prior to that with another injury. 3 points in 11 games is bad, but I don't think production is the most important aspect for him this season.

I still believe in the kid and hope he can stay healthy.

Wheeler said those invites are on top of "the obvious locks of Martone, McKenna, Ivankovic, George, etc".

“It’s been great, honestly,” Parekh told Postmedia. “Injuries suck, but we have a great team here and they keep it light every day, keep it positive, and I think it’s been a good breather for me. I think I just needed to take a step back and relax a little bit.”

The 19-year-old Parekh, feeling “pretty much back to normal” after four-plus weeks of rehab on his upper-body injury, departs later this week for Hockey Canada’s world-junior training camp.

A few days ago, in a one-on-one interview with Postmedia, Parekh seemed as relaxed as he has at any point this fall.

They were apparently commenting on the same in the coaches’ offices after he was green-lighted to participate in Friday’s practice in a yellow no-contact jersey, another important step in his recovery.

“We talked about him this morning, watching him around the room … ” Flames bench boss Ryan Huska said. “His swagger is back with the smile on his face.”

“Just making plays and playing my game … You know, I haven’t really been able to do that (this season),” Parekh said, adamant that nobody else is to blame for his frustrating fall. “And it’s not really a coaching thing. It’s on me and just trying to not make mistakes. I think that’s been the biggest issue.

“I think it will be good to slow the game down a bit and find my game. I remember last year, coming in at the end of my year in junior, and I really felt untouchable. When I came up, I still felt great and the confidence was at an all-time high. I know if I get back to that, I’ll be fine.”

there are 11 centers among the 15 forwards on the roster. I bet if they need to win a d-zone faceoff on the left side, Reschny will be out there

Too many centers on the roster.

Reschny, Iginla, Hage, Desnoyers, O'Brien, and O'Reilly are all centers but TSN lists them on the wing.

We will see where they actually fit in when the camp starts going.

With my limited knowledge I had thought Battaglia might have had an outside chance of making the team. But that group is pretty stacked, so I get it.

Reschny had been moved around the lineup a but the last couple international tournaments he's played in for Canada but finished on the top line. Might not get there on this particular team with guys like Misa and potentially Catton in the mix but wouldn't shock me either if he continues to outperform expectations. Kid seems to have the kind of pro-style game (and clutch factor) that the Hunters will no doubt be into.

going into the season you could have made an argument for an invite to an expanded camp, but not now...

He's also a bit of a swiss army knife that can play a variety of roles, positions, and move up and down the line-up.
