I saw somewhere that Rasmus might get traded this season. That must be it.

Have not watched him this season… has he struggled lately and this is a healthy scratch as part of a reset? Seems like the team is struggling with illness so, if he’s not sick, why sit him? Also interesting they would go so far as to call up Morin… would be strange to do that if it was just a case of giving Brz a reset to his game.

It would be really dumb when you’re 5 points out of a playoff spot but I heard some unknown dude on YouTube say it. So I guess it’s happening.

Well, we have to do something before the higher-ups start thinking we "have a shot".

I was skeptical that they were rebuilding after they traded the first 7 vets for picks and prospects, always waiting for the other shoe to drop and see them make a trade to win now. But if the trade Rasmus for picks and prospects I might start to believe that this team actually is rebuilding.

Not even sure that will convince me they are rebuilding though, have so many feelings that they are not rebuilding.

I think that's wishful thinking. Last year was Brzustewicz's first year in the AHL. He struggled for the first half before figuring things out towards the end of last year. Kuznetsov in comparison had 3 full years and 2 partial seasons in the AHL before getting called up. Kuznetsov also plays the slightly more simple game, that doesn't have many offensive elements to it.

I think Brzustewicz would be a good addition to the 3rd pairing along side Hanley if/when Parekh gets promoted to the Bahl pairing. IMO it will take him another 2-3 seasons before he can hold his own as a top 4 D.

I wouldn’t think that Bru is being traded if he’s getting called up - which he is. Surely some move to come with another Dman - whether it be someone going on waivers or a trade but highly unlikely that Bru is being traded.

Is it confirmed that he is being called up?

Great news,

That'd be pretty cool if the Flames end up graduating 3 Dmen this season.

You’re dedicating a lot of posts arguing against maybe 1 guy, and around a topic without actual definitions.

The team has said they’re re-tooling. The team has also said they like the Dallas model. The team has said they’re rebiggling or whatever it was that fell out of Maloney’s mouth. The team has had multiple execs say they don’t want a “rebuild”, and they’ve also said no one is interested in tearing it down to the studs.

…just why bother continuing on with the shenanigans? It’s not even the real topic of conversation anymore. It’s kind of pivoted into:

Should the team lean into the down-season to maximize their own pick, or march ahead steady as she goes? That’s effectively “Do they trade only Rasmus Andersson? Or do they dig deeper into Coleman and Kadri?”

We’ve heard from insiders that “short term fixes” aren’t on the menu, and I don’t think any of us believe they’d go that route.

I know you've been banging this drum for awhile, and I agree with you, so I did want to ask...When did our rebuild officially start? Are we year 1? Year 3?

That long? Isn't he already Wranglers' best defence man?

I thought he looked pretty good in preseason. Made a couple really nice breakout passes, though, like Parekh, needed to adjust to NHL speed as far as his positioning went.

Maybe there is an injury to a defencemen? Still doesn't quite make sense with all the bodies available. Probably just want to cycle-through some of the young players.

With everyone on the Wranglers sick they’re probably going to keep an eye on him before letting him near the Flames players .
