Even though they may appear to look like crap on paper, a majority of Calgary's wins have come recently and some against very good teams. Relatively speaking, the team is on FIRE.
But the Mammoth will continue on their warpath tonight, although the win won't be an easy one. They will fall behind early, and Utah will come through for the first time ever with a 6 on 5 extra attacker goal late in the third. Excellent performance from Veggie the last 2 starts giving off Martin Brodeur vibes from the early 2000's, but with back to back nights were almost guaranteed to see Vanecek tonight between the pipes. A shaky start but he will provide solid goaltending in the 2nd and 3rd periods when needed the most.
Unlikely but timely offense from Nate Schmidt in this one - everyone loves to see a hardnosed grinder put points on the board. Not to mention Schmidt is still furious about that soccer kick goal by the Islanders that deflected in off his stick and the refs deemed was a good goal leading to an OT loss. He'll get his vengeance. Once again this is not a prediction and this AINT a damn discussion. This is what its gonna BE. Someone grab a bucket a water, because these Flames are about to get extinguished. Eyes on June. Tusks up.

Genuinely what the #### are you on. How do you know these things

I sincerely hope so. It’s only been one period, but you’re spot on so far. Did you come from the future or something?

A third straight win tonight would get us back to .500. That would feel good.
Oopsies outta the starting gates

Going to be a long night at this rate.

That was a very lazy looking play by Sergi on the 1st goal. Why does he spend so much time with only one hand on his stick?

This is the goalie that shout out the roadrunners and knocked them out of the playoffs

It’s gonna be one of those games again

Flames scored in the first 15 seconds, vaneck in net and we’re slow to warming up to the game

Honestly maybe starting down one will spark a little extra fight in the boys

I think we’re doing pretty good for the back to back. I’m not yelling what the hell?! Just yelling c’mon! No second slump, see some good chances. (Teach Tuna to shoot “up”)

I want us to score a goal today but the lord of the post says nay! nay! nay!

I guess going with 0:1 into the 3rd is not ideal but also not as bad is it could be

Mildly crappy road period.

The team isn’t playing smart and stay to the outside and advertise their passes… but it’s a better effort than last night … I hope we can score …
You look at their roster both last year and this year and it really is incredible. Not exactly sure how Huska is getting this juice out of this team.
Same as with Vegas’ roster in 2017. These are athletes and they like to prove others that are writing them off that they can play. Yes they have less talent than practically all the other teams but man they aren’t quitters.
As I mentioned last game Flames are the only team in the west that has a winning record in their last 10 games out of the 10 chasing the wild card spots.
Not Flames fault if the other 9 teams are playing like junk at the moment.
P.S. Blues won so they are also above.500 in their last 10

Seeing Wolf's return to form in the last two games is even better than tanking. Fight me.
Haha.
I'd rather he return back to form next year after we've secured Gavin (or at least a top 3 pick) but him returning back to form is the most important thing overall obviously.

The Calgary fan base is so warped by ownership that mushy middle is the route to go. Does bottoming out for a couple years mean a winning team. No. But Calgary has not done this, so why not try and if it doesn’t work out then we can go back to what the winning fans want. Mushy middle.

When they picked up Hanley, Bean and Beecher I knew they were never going to try to be bad.
