With the good feels of the Kadri 1K game evaporated so quickly hopefully we go another tailspin. Standings are still too tight to string any Ws together right now. A few more stick smashes by 4 and 52 to showcase visible frustrations too please. Those go along way in keep morale low and are essential in preventing good vibes which could spur a win streak. Eventually Wolf will start winning games on his own, before that happens we need to solidify our position in the standings.

Rossi’s been fun to watch.
I know there was smoke around him in the summer.
Lots on here thought he was too small and boring, but I’d say he looks reinvigorated playing this year.

Rossi is a stud, he personally made Jack Quinn look like a first round talent in his draft year. Expect him to be a PPG player (70-90 points per 82 games played) for the rest of the decade. May have a higher ceiling than that.

Minnesota was never trading Rossi. That was just bargaining shenanigans.

Like last time, we lucked out having a late pick turn into a star. Last time Johnny, this time Wolf.
We still need to draft the Monahan, Bennett and Tkachuk equivalents. So this year is the first top pick and we will probably need a couple more.
Depending on how the last few years of drafted players works out, CC may still have to make some home run trades to round out the roster without using up all the team’s cap space.
Because of Huby and Yegor, it’s not quite a blank slate.

It's weird seeing people say year 3 of a rebuild. I guess it depends on how you classify a rebuild. I agree we are one season into a half measured rebuild.
By half measured I mean not trading Anderrson when we had the chance last deadline. Or Kadri (although you can make an argument on the no trade clause). We didn't re sign any of the expiring contracts but I don't know if that really means you are officially rebuilding, especially if you offered them all contracts and they declined.
At the same time they tried to add some pieces in Farabee and Frost. Typically you wouldn't make this type of trade in a rebuild because on paper it did make us better. And I think helped lead to more points last year.
When they make a proactive move to trade a vet like Kadri who still has term on his contract or Coleman then I will call that the beginning of a full rebuild. But I do agree you can make an argument that it has been 1 year of a rebuild. It's just not a full rebuild currently, it is a half measured rebuild in my opinion.

Goal scorers on the top lines please. Roll four lines!
Huby - Kadri - Coronato
Zary - Frost - Sharangovich
Honzek - Backs - Coleman
Farabee - Kirkland - Kalpka
Coronato hat trick coming up!

I like Kuz with Andersson. I think they need to decide between Frost and Zary because they are the exact same type of player. Or make Zary a wing. In which case they still have a top 9 logjam.

I still can't cheer for losses, but I certainly do think that this is the right path forward. Sucks, but it is what it is, so the losses aren't as frustrating. I just can't actually cheer for a loss.
Hoping to see an entertaining game tonight. I will be happy with that.

This team will lose this year because it is not very good. It will also lose next year largely because I suspect by then 2-3 regulars from this year will be traded for more picks and prospects as the tear it down rebuild continues and nothing of substance will be added to the team to make it better.
One does not need to debase themselves cheering for losses because this team is not good enough to win a lot of games. They won last year on the back of coaching, goaltending and some really good years by a few key players. All 3 of those things do not seem to be the same this year.

Not hard to see a meaningless win tonight with goals from Kadri, Coleman, Backlund.

Did Huska just forget how to coach? Or you're suggesting he's deliberately coaching worse?

A great night for some Flames hockey. Managing to fumble their way to another loss brings us closer and closer to that final nail in the coffin in our journey to burying the season by game 20.
Excited to watch Rossi play. I watched a bunch of content about him on YouTube as he was in the rumour mill, and I really like the guy. Kaprizov should be dynamite as well.
