This team is going to rattle off wins now that we are supposed to be bad. This will cool off all trade talks with hope we are good. Just lose hockey games. Ffs. Pick a lane.

Nice W for Kadri and the home fans. Would have been a fun game to be at.

I was watching Kuznetsov really closely tonight and it really struck me how hard it is to play defense in the NHL. He was working his tail off in the D zone battling every guy he could but there is just so much movement and the players are all strong and fast and they know how to find space or make space. It's relentless. Good for him because even though he struggled at times when playing the puck he was a true gamer out there. This week we heard a lot about how the Flames organization wants him to learn to compete hard every shift and it looks like he did.

Wolf was great. He shut down a lot of Blue Jackets momentum by refusing to give up rebounds. Played the puck very well tonight too.

Honzek-Backlumd-Coleman were really good with Honzek probably the best of them.

Not a fan of the fourth line, but Klapka had another effective night. Nice goal, stepped in for Ras, and held onto pucks well.

Fun night to be at the Dome! Go Flames!

10 goals in the last two home games...actually I honestly don't think the Flames have played a bad home game

I cannot even fathom the mindset it takes to be this pessimistic about such a fun and emotional win. Just an absolute treat to watch games like these!

Unfortunately, I no longer see our team tanking. We will not come last place with Wolf. Hoping for a miracle run for playoffs at this point because we are looking at likely another 9th or 10th place finish which would be painful.
lol last place in the league and still complaining.

And not willing to give the rest of the team any credit when they score 5 goals

There were some Flames skaters who had really good games. And Wolf was amazing.

I give credit to everyone. The team can have a good game and the goalie can also play spectacular at the same time.

Wolf was good, Score effects are a real thing though...Its like when the Flames lose by four goals and you get mad at me for saying they had a bunch of chances. When you lead for 59 minutes you and have a big lead for a lot of it are likely to be outshot and out chanced.

Wolf would have to been pretty #### to allow 5 or 6 tonight and make it a game

Question…

So Kadri scored a goal in his 1,000th game. Does it still count, even though he didn't score it with his silver stick?

Pretty sure Andersson is leaving. Probably no one else until the deadline.

They were losing close games to the Jets, Knights, Habs...it shouldn't be shocking to see them beating mid teams like the Rangers, BJs, Flyers.

The worst part of the Flames abomination like start to the season was the lack of Around The League Reports.

One of the best parts of this site. Always a hilarious read.

Bravo Gaskal.

Good to see some of the young guns having good games

Honzek, Frost, Klapka, Wolf, Kuznetsov all looking good.

Be nice to get Zary going somehow. Hopefully Coronato can get on a roll too.

What a fun game to be at.

We seemed to get hemmed in quite a bit when Huska put out the 4th line and 3rd pair together. Still can’t be mad though Klapka had a solid game.

Kuznetsov looked decent.
Is there a world where he could replace Hanley as the defensively sound half of the top pair?
That way you could have Parekh in the same time as him and Parekh can continue his sheltered minutes on the 3rd pair/PP1.

This team has it in them to finish in the mucky middle again but while I always cheer for a win when watching I do hope Conroy sticks to the rebuild and trades Kadri or Anderson sooner than later.

We got enough bodies to fill the roster out even with those 2 gone.

When I look at the standings, despite their terrible start, the flames are a 5-6 winning streak away from being in the mushy middle of the league and a 7-8 game win streak from being within striking distance of a playoff spot. The team is playing better and I think the lines are starting to solidify a bit. Wolf is looking really sharp again. The teams they face over the next few weeks are not as tough as the last few weeks. Could see a stretch of winning here.

I could be wrong but over the last few seasons when the team has been rumoured to be willing to trade players (Markstrom, Lindholm, Hanifin, Zadorov, Tanev), it seems like Conroy rarely makes the move when the team is playing well or winning. I could see a win streak of 4-5 games cooling off trade rumours. For better or worse.

Which is kind of the problem...it's hard to suck that bad to get a top 5 pick.

Flames could easily win 5 straight to get back to .500, but that does them no good really.

94 points is the current playoff threshold.

Flames need 84 points in the final 67 games to get there, that's a .627 win percentage. Which with this 2 game win streak is much better than the .650 it was after Saturdays loss.

To get to 94 points they'd have to finish like 40-23-4 or 17 games above .500 the rest of the way.

So that's what's tough, a 5 game win streak gets them to the mushy middle, but they need like a 10 game win streak to truly get back into playoff contention, to to be consistent with enough to win 2/3 games the rest of the way
