Zegras is having a fantastic start to the season in Philly under Tocchet of all coaches. One has to wonder if they should have held onto him as he would have likely turned around under Quenneville. The locker room hated Cronin and a team should be weary of trading players under those circumstances.

Quenville might have fixed Zegras. It sometimes I think players getting a complete fresh start with a new org is what they need.

Anytime there is a sub 25 year old former top 10 pick who at least at some point showed flashes in the NHL is worth the gamble. It seems like a decent amount of these guys are better in their second stop.

I think the contract situation with Zegras played a part in his play.

Carlsson is young and so is Gauthier, but these 2 are tearing it up compared to last year so who knows.

The Ducks squad looks dangerous for years to come, so I'm not sad about them losing a weapon

Didn't Zegras say in an interview that (ironically) the climate was part of the reason he wanted out of Anaheim? He said something like he needs snow and every day in Anaheim is the same, which really wore on him after a while.

Don't worry about the Ducks they will never overcome the losing culture they created over the last few years

Seasonal depression is a thing for sure but if you read the article it's clear that he and Cronin were not a good match. Back on the seasonal depression thing, it's pretty common for that to kick in the fall because it signals summer is ending and winter is coming. That's kind of been something that has affected me for most of my life so I'm curious if say living in California would be a cure for that or lead to a different type of seasonal depression like Zegras admitted to.
