I think people are reading too much into things on a Monday practice a couple days before the season opener.

Gilbertson figures Parekh's watching game 1 from the press box.

Unpopular opinion but I don't think it's a bad idea for Zayne to watch one game

Junior doesn't make sense, I think he will learn the most being around the coaching staff everyday

Farabee-Kadri-Klapka is the most bizarre line. I can't even picture what it will look like. They will never pass.

Yeah, Zary makes more sense on that line.

Klapka gives Zary room too.

Outside of keeping Backlund and Coleman together like every other coach has done in the past 5 years, I'd argue Huska busted out the darts and blindfold and had at her.

I don't think Parekh goes back to junior, but he'll be gradually eased into the lineup. Wouldn't be the first kid to learn by watching from the press box.

His first NHL game last year was pure adrenaline. Now comes the hard part.

Yeah I obviously want to watch him play as he's an exciting prospect but he looked to struggle a bit the last two preseason games so I can see why they don't want to throw him out on the road against the Divey twins up north. That wouldn't do much for his confidence at this point. Hopefully he gets in game two.

That's the combo that lead to Kadri's goal last game.

Farabee made a nice play to Klapka who fed Kadri for the tap in.

I don't mind him watching game 1 and debuting at home. It could help build the confidence and avoid McDavid-Draisaitl matchups.

Pfffffft... I'll stick to my knee-jerk outrage, thank you very much.

I do like the Gridin-Frost-Coronato line. They should be fun to watch.

I'd love if they could pump up Farabees value to the point he was tradable.

I think it makes some sense because Kadri is such a puck hog. Players like Coronato and Zary have their best games when they get to carry the puck. Kadri’s game is to carry the puck, make a skilled move to beat defenders or create space and then take a shot on goal. He pretty much just wants his linemates to not go offside and just drive to the net. It works for him as he produces doing that but it doesn’t necessarily fit with other players. Farabee and Klapka are a better fit for that type of player than Zary, Coronato or Sharangovich.

On the road against McDavid and Draisaitl, I'm okay with Parekh starting in the pressbox. Physically, he is still underdeveloped, even compared to someone like Gridin, and he is going to get punished in the corners (or worse, avoid the battles altogether). He can work on his elusiveness and defensive positioning in practice, and it'll go that much better for him when he hits the ice for a game.

This is a player who might be carrying a big load for this franchise for the next decade. It doesn't have to all happen on Day 1.

Like even if he doesnt play game 1, doesnt mean he wont play later lol

Look how Coronato and Wolf were eased in, turned out pretty well even when people were impatient
