I honestly hope Andersson gets dealt soon so we can solidify D pairings instead of placeholding.

I would start Pachal. But I think Bean is the slight favorite to start.

Why? Guy had one decent pre-season game and was hot garbage in the last one. He brings absolutely nothing to the lineup. Pachal at least is solid in his own zone and would allow Parekh to use his offensive skills without worrying his partner is a disaster.

The Flames season doesn't hang in the balance based on the 6,7,8 dman or the 13th forward

Pachal is more physical, Bean probably skates better...whatever. Night two lineup will be different than night one and so on.

Well it does. It not only matters with keeping goals against off the board but it impacts Parekh's development if he is playing on that third pair. With Pachal he can play his game knowing he has a defensively responsible D partner, with Bean he doesn't have that luxury. It's a big difference.

I disagree that there is much of a gap between the two...and again its one game. Players are going to be moved in and out of that spot.

Puckpedia is showing Gridin as no longer on the roster. Was there an announcement that he was sent down?

Could be a paper transaction especially if they are considering a waiver claim of a goalie

If they send Gridin down I'll need to take a break from the Flames for a few months to get over the realization that CC is full of ####. Waive a POS like sharkbait.

Considering they didn't waive a player today,

There is only two players they can move to get roster compliant

or place a player on IR,

You might want to consider taking a break already.

I wouldn't go so far as waiving him, but his roster spot shouldn't be guaranteed either based on camp results.

Parekh is still showing up on the main roster with the team carrying 8 defensemen. I would really prefer that they waive Miromanov to make an extra roster spot and keep Gridin up.

The coachs have seen these guys all of past season. I don't think performance in a preseason game is that big of a factor.

Bean has a bit more NHL experience and might be seen as a better mentor for Parekh. My guess, and its just a guess, is Bean gets game 1.

I like Pachal better. But I don't think he is significantly better then Bean. At this point I am more interested in who has chemistry with Parekh.

Take a break either way

My one hope is they keep Parekh to his strong side. Kid doesn't need to deal with playing on his offside while also learning the game. Put him in a position to succeed... sheltered 5 on 5 minutes, premium PP spots if he proves himself...

Woah this is.... something else. What's the history behind such anger lol? Must be something there as this reaction seems quite extreme...

I agree with him in his strong side. But I would actually like him to get some time with Weegar to see how he handles the play. There isnt a rush to get him to the NHL. If he is going to be limited to 12 minutes a night playing sheltered minutes then save a contract year and send him back to the OHL.

I know he "has nothing left to learn" in the OHL. Except that isn't true. He will still develop dominating in big minutes in the CHL.

Zary Pospisil Sharangovich

Lomberg
Kirkland

Weegar Hanley
Bahl Andersson
Pachal Parekh

Bean

Wolf
Cooley

I would think Miromanov gets put on waivers. When Andersson gets traded if they don’t get a Dman coming back that Kuznetsov comes up. I think they will be looking for a replacement for Cooley and Provetsov. Hoping they can shelter Parekh 5 on 5 enough until he gets his legs under him. He’ll be a massive asset on the PP and just generating offense in general. Really hope Gridin sticks. He has looked great.
According to the post-game radio guys (Steinberg & co.), Huska's already confirmed that the Griddin isn't making the team unless both Huberdeau and Pospisil are out. Said he's needs to play top-6 minutes wherever he is, so most likely the farm. Edit: It might have been top-9 minutes... can't remember if it was 6 or 9.

The four Cs are already cemented:

Kadri
Frost
Backlund
Kirkland

Also, they've established four pairs (Huska also alluded to having pairs in the Bonfire panel):

Huberdeau Kadri ?
? Frost Coronato
? Backlund Coleman
Lombo Kirkland ?

Which leaves Zary, Pospisil, Sharangovich and Klapka as floaters.

The backend seems to be:

? Weegar
? Andersson
? Parekh

With Bahl, Bean, Hanley and Pachal as floaters.

Using that (not by my choice), here's what I would like to see:

Huberdeau Kadri Pospisl
Zary Frost Coronato
Sharangovich Backlund Coleman
Lombo Kirkland Klapka

Hanley Weegar
Bahl Andersson
Pachal Parekh

Edit: Admittedly, I didn't follow Klapka that much in the preseason. I was pretty dialed in on Frost, Coronato (looking for progress from the two) and Parekh, Griddin (for obvious reasons). I do get the sense from people that Klapka had a decent showing, so it might be feasible we see him and Pospisil swap spots.
