I like this idea, I talked about it a little in the off season. It just makes sense to have a line you can deploy during unbalanced moments in the game. The Flames struggled to punish teams who had bad icings, or failed powerplays.
I really like the idea of trying Huberdeau with Frost as well. Though I always imagined Sharangovich on the opposite wing.

Frost - Sharangovich/Huberdeau as PK1 would also be interesting.

I was sure Morin was supposed to play in one of the EDM games, but he's getting the short end of the stick for 2 years in a row. I wonder if the coaching staff isn't a huge fan of his for some reason.

Huberdeau - Frost - Coronato was put together for 17 games last season. Would like to see this combo again for an extended time.

The coaching staff must not be too high on Grushnikov, which is unfortunate, considering Conroy supposedly had to pry him away from the Stars in the Tanev deal. He's still waiver-exempt this year at least.

Not too concerned with Tacoboy not getting a preseason game. The Flames need to see what they have in Morton, because one of Morton or Kirkland are going to need to hit the waiver wire.

I wish they’d give King at least 1 game too.

They were actually a pretty good line despite getting a bit unlucky.

For lines that played over 100 mins together they were the best in xG% with 56.7%, and in xGA/60 with 2.01. In that time they were supposed to outscore the opposition 5-4, but unfortunately ended up being outscored 4-7.

Long story short, I'd love to see what they can do together again.

Team Black is going to morph into the Wranglers Training Camp pretty soon.

It's not that unfortunate. He isn't very good.

Gru not being very good is the unfortunate part.

If I remember correctly, Conroy had the option to get a 1st and nothing else for Tanev, or Gru+the 2nd.

The 2nd ended up being Battaglia, so that piece from the trade is at least looking bright so far.

Ya, I think he was really trying to put lipstick on that pig of trade. One of his worst.

Also like Zary with Klapka. Would love to see Klapka impress this year and play consistently in the top 9. Lots of like options of course but something like Zary-Frost-Klapka would be interesting if they found chemistry.

I'd imagine the Flames plan on sending the wranglers to their next couple of away preseason games.

The shortened pre season cant come soon enough...
