The most exciting single Flames goal ever for my money.
I remember when we drafted Johnny and, like everyone else, I immediately went "who?". And then the highlights of him started flowing in and I would lurk CP and just watch clip after clip of this undersized player doing amazing things. I knew then that he was special.
My absolute favourite player of all time. Happy birthday Johnny, we miss you.
To me nothing tops Gelina's OT winners vs Detroit and Vancouver. But Johnny's goal is right there with those. Certainly it's the best Flames moment of the past 10 years.
Johnny was a special player. Players like him don't come along very often. As a fan, I didn't appreciate him as much as I should have. Still can't believe he's gone from this world.
We will get more special players and more special moments. But it will take time.
