Losing most of the prior season to the skate cut definitely hurt Poirier's progression. He wasn't very good for much of last season, if I recall correctly he was healthy scratched on a few occasions. Hopefully he has a breakthrough this season, but it'll be tough for him to find his way to the Flames.

And he's 23.
I think a guy that is heading into his 5th year after being drafted will slide if he hasn't made it.
You don't right him off, he could pop this year.
But it makes sense to see him in the late teens on a team that has a deep system.

Just surprised to see 25 year old Solovyov and an older Kuznetzov ahead of him. Fair that his offense has stagnated in comparison to year 1, but we’re also comparing a deep 51 win Wranglers team with a 37 win team that had quite a few of its players called up to the Flames throughout last year.

For me I just think with Zayne likely to make the team and get pp time, he is totally blocked now.

But they will end up pretty much in the same level right?
17, 18 and what looks like 20.
All getting a little older.
