Last season's stats:

48 games 2 goals, 3 assists, 5 points, -6

Guys on the wrong side of 30 don't usually get better.

Wonder how long it will take for him to stop smiling all the time, 10, 40 games?

I guess they think that ex-Flames have worked so well for the Panthers. Someone better tell them that Mangiapane and Lazar are not the same as Tkachuk and Bennett.

Jesus. Is Clunk Wilm still playing? Maybe they can sign him too.

I think more realistically, Calgary has been good for the development of guys like Kulak, Mangiapane, Lazar. We don't need them because we churn guys like that out regularly - good roleplayers who work hard. But whereas we are missing a mcdavid type anchor, they are missing a scouting department that can supplement that guy

Stan Bowman is like my son on payday. Even if he has $20 left in his pocket, he's gotta spend it on something...

Most GMs are like that. It's why I laughed when people saw the cap was going to make a big jump and said that it meant teams wouldn't be so hard against the cap anymore.

Just over a day into free agency, and Puckpedia is already showing 4 teams with negative cap space and another 4 with less than a million in cap space.

They're not spending just to spend, they are spending becay they still have holes. I.e. open roster spots.

They have no money (cap space).

They have no minors (young prospects).

They have, well, no one.

So they end up with the Lazar's of the world: no one else wants, but Edmonton can sign them.... because all they have left is peanuts

Tied with Calle Jarnkrok for the most invisible player in modern Flames history.

They've finally met the Oilers' minimum age requirement.

Oilers got owned by Bennett and Tkachuk, used 4D chess to get former teammates to teach them the secrets

I like how a lot of Oilers fans are lauding this, means it him or Philp on the roster, he can just be the 13th forward, etc.

I must be missing something, because as it stands right now, both he and Philp are on the roster. As regulars. They have no one else for the spots?
