Boston is such an odd team. They need to get younger, appeared to be rebuilding from the deadline deals, but now rumors were they wanted to get Marchand back before he signed, and now they signed Jeannot. Where are they heading? What are they trying to do? Such a mystery.

Thank goodness! What an atrocious contract that is.
Wonder if the Flames look to someone like Justin Brazeau now, of course on a much shorter term.

Good. Didn't want him on the Flames at all. Too many bottom 6 players as it is. 5 years would have been so much worse.

He made 2.66 the last two seasons with a NMC element in that last year. You think he was going to get 100k raise on the open market?
This is a totally fine deal, maybe becauses it's Boston it's confusing but the salary is totally fine for what he brings. Maybe a year too long but when you hit the open market as a valued player you get more.

I love facepunchers especially ones who can play a bit but committing 5 years to one is high high risk.
