I have a feeling that Zonnon is going to be one of the potential surprises insiders say to expect. It seems like the hype around him really picked up in the last few months. One of those guys that you might project higher if there was just more runway. I picked Gastring, but if Zonnon is there, it might be a pretty shrewd pick.

Get SJs 2nd first round pick and have two! Nilsson and Ryabkin/Gastrin/Zharovsky/Moore.

This would be so on brand for the Oilers. If Flames don’t have someone we have to have at 32, I’d trade for a 2026 unprotected first with the greasers.

Which I don’t think they have.

Edit: they don’t. From nhl.com…

The Oilers’ 2026 first-round pick is currently **conditionally held by the San Jose Sharks**. It was part of the trade that brought Jake Walman to Edmonton. Here's the twist: if that 2026 pick ends up in the **top 12**, the Oilers can defer and send their **2027 first-round pick** instead. However, if they trade away that 2027 pick before the 2026 trade deadline, then the 2026 pick automatically goes to San Jose—no matter where it lands.

They already traded 2026, so 2027 it is!

I'm surprised Ryabkin is winning this. I think he's going to drop HARD.

I agree. He might drop to the third round. A name I'd like to drop is lynden lakovic.

I just went with Cullen Potter because he seems to be one of the best skaters and puck movers in the draft.

the good thing is that the draft is over soon and 3rd round pick Ivan Ryabkin will be someone else's problem.

I'm all aboard the Ryker Lee train. With improvements on his skating and he has all the tools to be a dual-threat type of player with his handling, playmaking, and shot abilities.

I'm sure Fujita has done a lot of video work to see if it's something that has the potential to improve significantly with development time.

Ryabkin winning this vote essentially is telling those that want to see it, that the fans are 100 percent on taking a big swing on a top ten skilled player with red flags. The payoff could be immeasurable. At worst, he busts out and we end up with a kl8mchuk or Poirier pick. Win some, lose some. But swing big!

Can't believe Nesbitt is getting no love- if he was still available at 32 (which he won't be), it's a no-brainer. I really think he's a candidate to be picked by the Flames at 18. The other candidates are McKinney (LOVE him), and Ryker Lee- who has everything going for him, other than skating. If he brings his speed up to par, you have yourself a star in the making.

I will give my thoughts on why I voted for Ryabkin. There are definitely some issues there, otherwise he would go top 5. That's how good his skill is. There are two red flags with Ryabkin. First, he is very full of himself. He believes he is a star in the making and he can rub some people the wrong way. I think the language barrier does not help either. Also, because he has so much natural talent he hasn't been the best at staying on top of his training. That's an issue that needs to be addressed for sure. Ryabkin can play physical and be effective at throwing hits or being a pest but much like Pospisil did he has to learn not to cross over the line. So far he has not shown that and can take a bad penalty.

I think Muskegon was a terrible fit for Ryabkin because of not only the language barrier and the way he can rub others with his overconfidence, he was saddled with an absolute puck hog in Dave Deputy who has a similiar ego as Ryabkin. It definitely hurt Ryabkin's numbers playing with Deputy, I have watched enough film to see that.

So he is a hell of a project, maybe he doesn't put it together but if you get through to him to put in the work and wake him up to what he has to do to succeed at the next level you have a top 5 draft talent. If he doesn't he might carve out a career as a bottom 6 pest. Personally I think the swing is worth it because if you get through to him and he puts in the work and eats some humble pie you have a big time talent. None of the other players listed here have the talent and package that Ryabkin potentially has.

Went Gastrin, really like the player but I have a feeling he'll be gone by 32.

Like I said before, can't shake the feeling Flames go Mckinney here. Glad to hear Sandman loves him!

I put him at the beginning of the second-round in my Final List, but I should have had him in the late-first. He's got a little Bennett in him, stylistically.

I wonder if Ryabkin is one of those players that need to be drafted and dropped to help his ego

West vs Ryabkin. Which is the bigger swing? That should start an argument.

Ryabkin.

If CC grabs West in the first wouldn’t hate it.

I don't want them to use the 18OA on him, but if he continues to slide, it's a great pick. If we grabbed him with our late 2nd or 3rd round picks, it's a homerun.
