I didn't think Kane had any trade value. Knowing the Canucks, they probably gave up something of value to get him rather than getting a compensation pick from the Oilers lol.

Wow, this could screw both franchises! Kane destroys what's left of that room, while the Oil still get hit with whatever punishment for camp circumvention. Win win!
Any chance this is all to try and appease McDavid - rumors of Frederic and now this.
Not sure how Elias is going to feel in Vancouver... I still think there's something there with him but that contract is so risky. What if you could land him with just the 32nd pick + Kerins?

The Oilers already got Kane for 1.75 million less on the cap than what he was being paid for the term of his contract, doubt the league does anything now on this new issue.
