Think this is Kirkland's first ever one-way deal, at age 28. Pretty neat

He was a great feel good story last year. I just hope that he contributes the way he did last year despite some underlying stats suggesting he was getting a little lucky.

I love his character and compete level, so even if he doesn't produce, he'll still be effective at that price.

And if he's not - the risk is minimal.

Glad he got another opportunity. This will be a big year for him to see if he can carry some of that early season magic forward.

I suspect he probably won't, but he has earned the opportunity to try. And if he doesn't - no risk or cost to the Flames.

Hope he does though - easy guy to cheer for.

This is fine. Wranglers need some vets that can fill in for the NHL roster in an emergency without looking like a disaster.

Just one year? Shouldn't you get an 8 pack from Costco?

We replaced Roon Dawg with a Costco-dog? At least it was on sale.

Happy for Kirkland, hopefully he continues to be magic in the shootout.

Im a little surprised its not a 2-way, I guess.
Not much room on the main squad up front now.

I would have said a lot about the organization to nominate a player for the Bill Masterston and then not sign him for the very next season. I'm glad they signed him. Little things like this make the organization a little more attractive for players to want to come here.

Happy to see Costco back with us!

Now, does anyone know if his contract has an asterisk next to it so we can know for sure if he’s not getting re-stocked after next season?

It’s a great feel good story but doesn’t really move the needle as far as flames on ice is concerned

I thought Kirland was more impactful than Rooney, so it's good from that perspective at least.

One way v two way doesn't mean he can't be sent down. It just means his salary doesn't change if that happens.
