Nice deal, I'd imagine Kirkland gets announced soon.

Great signing.
Do we have name of all players who needs contract? UFAs, RFAs or drafted young players?

I thought he was just a big brute, but he's more than that. He can be a regular NHLer so this is a good contract.

Awesome. One of my favorite undrafted finds that I can ever recall.

You often hear about players going to the WC's and coming back with heightened confidence and determination. Klapka was the 3rd youngest player on the Czech team and had the highest PPG average on the team for anyone under the age of 27 and not named Martin Necas.
I know the tournament is a small sample size, but he fit right in with the best on that team.

Great signing. Similar situation to Pospisil, similar result.

I am more optimistic about Klapka, it feels like there is more untapped potential with him.
Pospisil seemed to start off on a hot streak, then slowed down over time (still a great sparkplug). While Klapka seems to have started slower, and has been on an upward trend. I really need to fact check myself on this.

Iginla is probably telling him to be meaner. Given Klapka's affable nature it's probably something he needs to prodded for.

How can Iggy tell anyone to be meaner where he, himself is not mean at all. He probably grinning ear to ear while telling Klapka be meaner, how can Klapka take him seriously.

No-brainer signing I think. He could very well end up becoming a unicorn - the Calgary Flames version of someone like Tom WIlson who is scary to play against, but is also a very good player and one that can be on the top line. Hopefully he continues to evolve his game in that direction. It was a small sample size, but he did exceptionally well playing on the top line. He also had a very good season in the AHL the season prior leading the team in points. He has skill, and it seems to be translating. Hopefully it continues. Players like him are so important to playoff runs.
