I like the unifi protect cameras as there's no outside connection so everything is stored locally and the app works great.

What's the point of an alarm as a feature that you'd need though. I'm pretty sure it's well documented that an alarm doesn't deter burglars, although they may rush out faster. If anything, silent monitoring and calling the cops might mean they can catch them before they run away, thus you'd loose less stuff.
I'm sure there's some products you can buy if you want an audible alarm. Albeit, I'd assume it'd be slightly more annoying than helpful in general.

I would like some new cameras. What about the Eufy ones, any comments?
I have an Aqara smart lock and really like it. Opens with a tap from my phone.
Meross smart plugs suck with Google home. I have had good luck with Kasa/Tp-Link smart plugs and switches.
I have Telus security/door bell and it works fine. Wish it connected to the other systems though as multiple systems suck.

My side rant, power over ethernet standards are all over the place. There's POE, POE+, POE++, Ultra-POE etc. I do think it might be cool that one day, we'd just use ethernet to hook up a monitor/screen to a dock/computer or basically anything in general vs having combinations of ethernet, USB, HDMI/DVI/DP etc.
