Chicago likely has zero interest, as they are rebuilding and have moved away from all he past longer term Chicago players. They passed on Kane.

Some team will give him a chance, and monitor his minutes during the season and hope he can rise to the occasion (again) come playoff time. Maybe Toronto, Dallas or Carolina.

Chicago doesn't win 3 Cups without him. He and Bolland neutered the other teams best players and allowed Kane to roam basically free.

Don't be so quick to judge. Unless you've been chronically ill, you can't imagine how, yes, desperate, you can become to find SOMETHING that works. And then consider he was a young man, professional athlete. I'd have tried anything too.

Doesn't this seem more likely to be a "come to camp and if it looks good we'll give you a 1 year deal" sort of thing?

I think it’s a low risk, high-reward kind of player.

Can likely play 4C better than most 4Cs, and likely can stopgap 3C in case of injury.

I wasn't a huge fan of his to begin with, but his reaction to the Kyle Beach stuff really soured me on him.

Especially in context with how vocal he was about "player safety" during the 2020 bubble and how hockey media fell all over themselves talking about how he "stepped up" and asked the difficult questions on behalf of players. Folks were awfully quiet about his "leadership" after the Kyle Beach stuff broke.

My reaction when that article came out about his "detox" and how he had diarrhea for days on end: Good!

I feel that would be absolutely best case scenario with 3rd line center more realistic. For a team trying to advance further in the playoffs his leadership intangibles can't hurt.

I don't think one instance of hardcore bullying deserves eternal damnation. Some of ya'll act you've never done anything to anyone. It's almost like some folks project the justified rage that should be targeted at the actual rapists and MANAGEMENT that allowed it to happen. No one spoke up on the team. Why should Toews be dasavowed so harshly?

Yayaya "he's the captain and needs to lead by exampl". Rubbish, he was a twenty-something guy who only knew hockey, not how to deal with crap like this. Did he make a mistake? Sure, and criticize his leadership, but for godsake stop piling on the bystanders worse than the actual freaking rapist.

No one is singling out Toews. Everyone involved should have been punished and far more than they were. But this is the Toews returning thread, so that's why people are saying #### him. #### him, #### Quenneville, #### Bowman, #### them all.

OBviously you haven't read the Quenneville returning thread. Or the Bowman hired in Edmonton thread.

Also Jonathan Toews made somewhere around 120 million in his career. I don't really think that equals eternal damnation.
