After 6 games this year Andersson was 3G, 5A = 8Pts and +7
In the following 75 games he's gone 8G, 15A, -45!!

Lots to be proud of but it is difficult to imagine a better result without a bonified 1C. Which as of today they don't have a viable plan for obtaining.

I would like to see Bean, Rooney, Andersson, Coleman, Miromanov, Mantha all gone this offseason. Kadri is a leader and he wants to be here and he controls that so he isn't going anywhere. We need another top 6 centre to push Backlund down to 4th line C. Actually we need a top line C and it would be perfect with Kadri as 2C and Frost as 3C. I just don't see where you get that C in our age bracket, especially a RHS. You can draft him but unless you are drafting top 5 you are not finding a plug and play guy.

Lol, that's irrelevant to what I'm saying. We drafted a superstar when he shouldn't have been available.

It was an all time anti-heater. And the league will know it now. He's no longer a valuable asset in a trade. May as well hang on and try to set him up next season to get maximum points in hopes of a deadline return.
Whatever you do though, DO NOT re-sign him to his 30+ retirement contract.

But don't you mock everyone for wanting to draft high in hopes of acquiring the necessary pieces to contend? And then say you don't know how they'll get what they need without drafting top 5?

The team is likely to get worse next year. His value is probably not changing much. If you get a 26 or 27 1st and a good solid prospect not this Miromanov garbage you pull the trigger. Andersson has been declining for years now, maybe a contract year motivates him but he would be right back in the same spot here if he returns and he clearly cannot play as a top pair defender.

No, I don't mock anyone. I say it gets tiring when people keep calling for the team to tank over and over again every single day when the team has made it abundantly clear that is not happening. It's as pointless as saying what you want to do with your millions of dollars before winning the lottery. I said I don't know how they are going to get that plug and play piece without drafting top 5 which they won't this year, or next year, or the year after that most likely. The only path to that player is trading prospects/picks to get it and I don't know if that path is viable either.

No, you want the team to get worse next year because you continually go on about tanking. They are probably as good as they were this year and if Parekh pops they are probably a playoff team, even if they trade Andersson.

Looking forward to seeing what Conroy can get for Andersson in a trade.
Would love to Lomberg back in a Flames uniform.
Hoping Conroy can find us some offensive help.

Your chances of trading for a top line, elite center is near zero. Eichel was a unicorn with wanting out of a terrible franchise AND going in for a type of neck surgery no one had done in the NHL before. But generally speaking your number one center that solidifies you as a contender is going to be a top end draft pick. Which this team likely isn't getting anywhere near. So really, you didn't disagree with it you were just tired of hearing about it, but you and Dino7c didn't present it that way throughout the season.

Draft:
Centers baby, draft em with reckless abandon!
Draft week:
Deal Andersson for another 26 1st
Acquire another RFA level type FW.
Fa: find a #4 level LHD. Swing on a really big fishy. If you don't get the one you want, patience.
Get them kids signed to long term deals. None of em deserve a bridge deal.

Really the flames have some real good prospects in the pipeline,
Wolf who blew the doors off this team in his first full professional NHL season and looks like our legit #1 for the future. I would keep Vladdy as well and run with these two as our goalie tandem for the next while.
Zary, Coronato, Klapka all should be big parts of the Forward group. Farabee/Frost should rebound nicely into the group as well. You have Suniev, Kerins, Stromgren, Honzek who'll probably make a big push at the camp too.
Parekh could be the elixir on the back end we've been looking for, Bru and Gru might make a push on the back end as well.
If Conroy can bang out another solid draft which I don't doubt he wont. The future is bright in Calgary

I don't disagree at all, I never did. You are right, I am tired of certain posters calling for a complete teardown constantly when the brass has made it clear it isn't happening. I even said before the start of this past season I was in favour of it but it isn't in the cards.

No they won’t be better. Stop talking in facts like you know everything. They still lack a first line. Other teams will get better. This was a fluke season just like 14/15. Played a difficult brand of hockey that took its toll that messaging will be hard to keep up next season.

I'm not talking in facts, I am predicting they won't be worse. Let's go back to the beginning of this past year Paulie, you had the Flames drafting 1st overall or thereabouts, I had them drafting 18th. Who was closer?:
