No way they can operate 3 hockey teams with 2 sets of washer and dryers lol. Must be a rotating 24 hour shift doing laundry.

I’ve been in the same seats for 22 years now, and asked my rep if we’d have a chance to buy our seats. He told me that STH would all get first dibs on their seats.

Laugh out absolute loud in Calgary. Ottawa (similar cooperate, white collar, entertaining clients, boring ticket buying crowd) attempted the same thing when attendance fell off and it was laughable and abando0ned in short order. You could barely get something like that going in the more passionate, fun North American markets. You're not getting that in this corporate, snoozy city, full stop.

I think they could pull it off with a reduced price student section for example, but they wouldn't dare go that route...

Yeah, I was gonna mention that. They will want to try to replicate an intimating supporters section but will not want a) excessive noise that annoys our corporate crowd entertaining clients, b)excessive drinking and fun or c) reduced prices from the absolute most they can possibly charge.
It ain't happening. Silly for Conroy to even mention it.

Are those four guys they'd pay to dress up and cheer in the late 90s early 00s still available?

I still remember how hilarious it was when they overpriced the '15 playoff series against Anaheim in round 2 and didn't come close to selling out the dome for games 1 and 2. They had entire rows empty in the higher part of the lower bowl and had Flames employees dress up in fan gear and cheer and dance in those rows. It was so stupid and awkward, lol.

That sounds like a Clippers fan wall thing. Not sure how that works in hockey. Who are you distracting the PP? Can’t distract the goalie as he can’t see the wall.
At least they she they are trying to create energy in and building which is absent right now.

I remember being at game 2 with the wife and getting upgraded from nosebleeds to front row upper bowl along with another couple.

I think the idea is the design would contribute to the intimidation factor, but I suppose a price reduction could be a part of that. It wasn't Conroy that said it, it was the COO.

Any sense on how STH are entering into the new arena in terms of seat selection? We have been STH's in the same seats since 1983 but given we are in red 2, I am not sure seniority versus some of the more expensive tickets.

[talked about a "defend the endzone" behind the nets for fan experience and intimidation]
In the 80s at Wranglers games, we wore giant red foam hands, pointed and chanted Sieve when the other goalie was scored on. It grew into a big thing and was on the news with a lot of people doing it. Sometimes the other goalie would react.

I think that's a little harsh. Every pro team has a corporate fan base yet some still seem to have a more lively atmosphere too. I don't think it's the organization that is holding Flames fans back from making it louder inside the arena.
I do get the high prices thing. If Flames are serious about it, you need to have some sections that will have decently priced single game tickets available. On the whole, are Flames tickets any more expensive than other Canadian NHL teams though?

When I hear state of the art, I also hear the price of tickets are going to double.
