time does march on. I agree 26 not that old for a D, someone will likely consider a reclamation here- otoh he's older than Bahl, Pachal, Solovyov, and same age as Bean (*I'm realizing you aren't endorsing him one way or another for the Flames, just pointing out his relative age now-)

We replaced him with Jake Bean and have done just fine. We've got much better players coming up through the pipeline. No need to claim Jusso. Best of luck to him.

Valimaki getting claimed in 2022 --> butterfly effect --> Flames bring in Bahl

That's how I like to think of it

I used to use that clip to coach my son on when to step up from the opposite side. Great play.

I remember that clearly. A perfect hit to separate player from puck. Not violent but just perfect. I thought we really had something. But no.

The Flames had Valimaki, Kylington, and Andersson looking like the next elite NHL core.... At least Andersson worked out.

Conroy would have to have a frontal lobotomy to claim Valimaki

Not sure it was apparent by 2022, but I think we can all agree I nailed it.

Another player who had a good start with new team after the Flames let go and everyone loosed their mind to only have the player become what flames management thought they were.. waiver/bust.

For every Bennett there are multiple Valimaki’s. Trust your scouts and know when to let go.

While you’re trending to be right, his career isn’t over yet.

I guess not a lot of people watch AHL but he was awful down there and he was basically ECHL bound if not for the 1st round pedigree when the Flames let him go.

I mean he should be an upgrade on our third pair.. him and Pachal might actually work well together.

If it doesn't work out you simply put him back on waivers... Nothing really to lose here.

So am I wrong -was it Tre’s unwillingness to part with him at the time that cost us Stone, even as a rental?

Bring him back, do the same thing so that we can have a proper set of Bahls.
