Pinder mentioned on barnburner this morning that he's likely bound for Europe if he wants to keep playing - I feel like that's just not really a thing anymore. Especially a guy that made as much $$ that Barrie has in his playing career. I feel like the more common route nowaways is getting into coaching or management.

I am actually shocked a lot more players don't go overseas to Europe and experience the lifestyle, culture. The higher level players with strong NHL experience can get some marque Europe jobs playing in good cities/teams.
If you are in your 20's and 30's, why not go to Switzerland, Germany, Prague, Stockholm for a year or two? The higher salaries are actually really decent when the factor that the teams pay the taxes. If your making $400k CAD clear and living the lifestyle, what is the alternative that can't wait a few years?
The players who have gone have always had great things to say about the experience, the teams and the level of hockey.
