Do any of them answer the question asked? They all spin it to fit their needs.

I have to admit here, Harper comes across pretty smug. And, as the cabbie once said, "Smugness is not a good quality."
His half-smirk is pretty annoying.

The thing is, a lot of voters are narrowing their decision down to the Liberals and Conservatives. Duceppe and Layton have just owned Martin in this thing, so the Conservatives could benefit from the efforts made by the Bloc and NDP.

I've had the same thought, he always seems to have that look and it always makes me wonder what he's hiding... He typically has a good message, it's just the delivery...but then he's not alone with delivery problems. Martin moves around as much as Pierre McGuire (had to get a hockey comment in).

Nice comment from Deceppe, something like Martin talks like an NDP and then runs like a Tory so they're all the same. Best one of the night so far.

Martin continues to ignore the fact that a reduction in the tax paid on the lowest tax bracket is a tax break for the rich as they also recieve the cut on that lower bracket(even though it is on a small portion of their entire income), as well as the poor. I don't totally agree that the GST cut is the best answer, as it does benefit those who purchase luxury items.

You're right of course. It just seems like Martin is way off base compared to the rest of them in responding. Of course I can't stand Martin, so my bias might be getting in the way.

Martin looks old and tired. The poor ******* could probably use a good sleep in.
Harper certainly doesn't make things any easier on the Tories. I remember thinking a few years ago "Man, if the Reform and PC would merge again they would beat the tar out of the Libs." Well, their inability to find solid leadership still has them fighting from a position of weakness. It's a damn shame. They sure could use someone like Duceppe.

LAYTON ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION! Arg, so frustrating.
"Mr. Layton. What two things must be included...."
"Well, let me just totally ignore your question here so I can spew some BS..."

Can only stomach so much of the debates at a time, but it's basically Harper vs. Martin with Duceppe and Layton attacking Harper or Martin all the while. Obviously Ducceppe and Layton should come out ahead as a result of this, so it basically comes down to who out of Harper or Martin deflects the criticism the best, in my opinion.
So far, from what i've seen, Martin's all over the place and Harper's repeated most of what we've heard from the Conservative platform this entire campaign. But I enjoy seeing Martin stumbling about and hope it only gets worse for him as the debate rages on.
Pretty intense stuff.......

Harper is the best Alliance/Reform/new Conservative party so far but I'd agree, there's something about him. AT least the party is becoming less...I don't know how to delecately put this to an Alberta Audience...let's call it extreme. They're likely cleaning up some of the wild opinions in the party which is likely a good thing.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Harper minority government to see how different he'd run things.
Martin should have been PM a decade ago when he was a young stud (in the polical world anyway) but that Cretin wouldn't leave.

I have the advantage or diadvantage of listening to this thing without the benefit of the video side of things.
So looks and whatnot are really irrelevant to how im judging this.
Clearly Martin was bailing left right and CENTER (haha) on most questions posed to him. What a weasel. He is really trying to trumpet education and child care as the only things really pressing in this election. That shows you how truly out of touch he is.
Deceppe is one slick guy who, if he wasn't a seperatist, would be ideal as a national leader for his debating/talking skills alone.
Harper has been solid IMO, but that smirk you guys are describing is easy to visualize and makes me cringe.
Layton....just doesnt matter.

Hehe, Duceppe cracks me up. He's got the easiest job here because the people he's talking to won't vote Bloc anyway so he's got nothing to lose. I really wish Harris from the Green Party were here to have another "free voice" everyone else has to answer the right way not necessarily the way they want.

The 'Scary Tories' garbage has been suspeciously absent tonight. I suppose Martin is to busy thinking of ways to defend himself and is somewhat off his usual game.

Havent you heard KG?
That stuff is manufactured by the TORIES as a way to explain their recent losses in Federal Elections!! Just ask any good Lib party supporter.

Ahhh right tranny. I forgot. How silly of me.
Martin did get a nice little fear-monger in there with the "Harper said Canadians are second rate" thing. I'd like to see the a for that comment.
